          ... us why it was so famous. What I really loved about Brussels was the lovely street art that seemed to pop up everywhere. It was fantastic and added a different dimension to the city. We spent our afternoon in a music museum. It was pretty fantastic, thousands of instruments had been set up and we had an automatic machine connected to headphones which played music from whatever instrument we happened to be looking at, straight into our ears. ...

We learnt about the horrible ruler _____ who used brutal means to colonise the Congo and his successor who was actually nice and cared about the country and said no when Germany wanted to come through Belgium to invade France in WWI. Finally we saw the ____ which was a beautiful view over the city! Had some dinner and Pappas watched the Wimbledon final. Made our way back to the hostel for a relaxing evening even though we had raucous Spanish speaking room ...

          ... It had a really good subtle flavour, with lots of vegetables. It was an insanely large portion though and despite her best efforts, Kim got nowhere near finishing it! With a beer and a mineral water, the bill came to €50, pretty reasonable for a major European city, but hopefully there will be cheaper meals to come otherwise we will be home before Christmas!

          We hired a car for two days. Sarah and co took it to Bruge for the first day, so we took the opportunity to check out Brussels. Firstly, we were allocated dinner duty so we had to make sure that it was possible, so we went past the supermarket before doubling back to the square to catch the HOHO bus. The map was unreadable! It was apparent, but not immediately, this is the worst HOHO bus service ever. It is not user friendly ...
