So bit of a lie in today, up and out by 9am and off on a scenic route to moi I rana. Pete takes the 812 and we pass some Norwegian art in a small village and push on again through some dramatic scenery to the e6 and to the arctic circle centre. We crossed the arctic circle in Sweden last week and now we are crossing back through norway. Last week in Sweden there're was a sign marking the line and it was glorious sunshine. My first impression of Norway was just how easy it is here. This is mostly because everyone speaks beautiful English. And they are friendly, and public transport is easy to figure out. After a short tram ride and walk I arrived to Nash’s cozy little house and was greeted by her and an Aussie friend who had been living in Oslo for a few years. After the standard introductory Q&A’s Nash helped me plan a bit of an itinerary for my 2.5 days in Oslo and then we jumped into bed.

The next day my plan basically involved walking as ...

Later in the evening we walked to the harbour front where we found the DFDS Seaways jetty. This was useful because on our last day in Norway we would be taking a ferry from here to Copenhagen. The medieval fortress of Akershus was to the right while further on we came to the Oslo Opera House and later the Nobel Peace Centre. We paid to enter the Peace Centre museum and spent an interesting afternoon there out of the rain. ...
