This sounds like a very stuid mistake to make, and in all fairness that's exactly what it was. My only defence is that Lyndsey and I had previously decided to book everything in advance for the first week of the trip, and it was almost inevitable that one of the many bookings and reservations we made would be wrong. By the time I realised my mistake the DFDS Seaways office was closed, so we spent a much less relaxed evening ...
... 85 days with rain!
Earlier when we'd gone to get our metro ticket from the newsagent, the guy behind the counter asked us if we were going to have a BBQ. We just thought that it was a jibe at us being Aussies, but... no - turns out it wasn't. It's probably cos it's so dark here in the evenings during winter that the people of Oslo take every opportunity when it's warm & sunny to take to the parks and cook their own ...
... myself so we pressed on, taking the number 12 again through the centre of town to the Aker River. We took Hausmanns Gate parallel to the river to find the Design and Architecture Centre but had similar luck there. This process did include a little walk on the mainly frozen river but it was good to finally see it in this fjord-oriented city. The rather small river looks like it would be a good place to be in the summertime. The last few minutes of our second 24-hour tickets ...
Oslo, Oslo, Norway v1213... they ever arrive. It will all work out, and I have asked everyone to relax about it because certain people were getting a bit stressed over it. No wonder there is high BP meds involved! And gin! Jumbo Shrimp cocktail began dinner, followed by pate encroute, that I don't remember now that I am writing this. Did it ever come? Hmmmm. The entrée was a filet mignon and shrimp as well, delicious. Although I had ordered mine medium rare and it came medium ...

Went to the train station in search of a grocery store for breakfast, but they were all closed as it was Sunday. My stomach went hungry for a bit this morning, but not my eyes - the three senoritas from the hostel were ...
... to Scotland to see Alex's family. We were joined on our train to Scotland by a 35 strong Scottish stag party who announced themselves by falling onto the train desperately clasping onto their bottles of red wine. The stag then spent the next hour slurring at us in an incomprehensible Scottish accent. Sam said goodbye to golf in Scotland by getting locked in the changing rooms prior to his tee off time, but he overcame this to beat the Scots (!). We then ...
Oslo, Norway samalex... complex with indoor pool and water slides, a big hockey arena, two or three basketball facilities, soccer field, etc. All publically owned. Inside we were warmly greeted -- we're the best show in town right now, althrough there is some kind of regional finals in ice hockey coming tomorrow. In the games the girls played first. Once again we were put up against a team that is one or two years older than we are, a bit of a pattern to date. We hung with the Asker squad ...

Whatever money they made from the selling of these crafts had to be used to pay back the loan sharks, leaving them with virtually nothing. Oslo, Norway zento... hours. I arrived to the airport, no problem and way on time. In fact, I was at the hotel so early (I was there before 5 A.M., around 4:30 to be exact) that none of the airplane check in stands were open, nor were any of the airport services active. At first I began to worry about whether or not I was going to be able to get my tickets in time since no one was around, but I found an automated Lufthansa check in machine ...
