I opened the curtains this morning and everything was white. Most of it was owing to thick fog - you couldn't see the lake 10 metres away - but the snow-covered trees were clearly visible and the ground had a sprinkling of powder. ... level was not too kind but we were able to get to the memorial for the obligatory pic and see the 70 metre drop to the ocean. We read some history of the exploration and naval battles fought offshore during WW2. For such a remote part of the world plenty went on here.
