Weather had lifted today, only a few showers, which for the most part we managed to avoid. Our first stop this morning was the Tourist Information Centre as we wanted a map of Norway and directions to Mt Aksla, which is a lookout in the town centre, great viewing from atop with a 360 degree panoramic view of the archipelago, the beautiful town centre, and the amazing Sunnmøre Alps. After a day of getting used to the constant stunning views all the way here we made our first long stop at Alesund at midday.
Had a walk around in the snow into the pretty little port, not much to do but get used to the freezing temperature and the snow and ice.

... serious fire back in 1904. There is a great atmosphere & a distinctive character to the central part of the town with amazing decorations and colourful facades particularly around the waterfront domain.

Besides touring around the city streets & wharves, we also are taken to the Sunnmore Open-Air Folk Museum to view some of the old houses and the antique boat collection, which was quite facinating.

    By midday we ...
