... in reality the Arctic Circle is crossed 2km North of this location at the south end of the island of Sundoya - but apparently it's not as photographic to the Hurtigruten tourists that cross its path daily! ... Rana. Heavy industry (e.g. iron mining) make the town important/interesting from an economic perspective, but definitely not from a tourists' one.
The weather is suboptimal - at least once a day there is rain. But I don't complain, since the weather was absolutely perfect on the North cape.

Trondheim to Mo I Rana
Early breakfast and departure for the long ride north towards the Polar Circle. The ride is and was through typically stunning Norwegian scenery, in the 'Rain and Sleet' glad it's the summer here.
We follow the Trondheimsfjord through Steinkjer and Mosjoen a meer 360 miles before arriving at our base for the next night in the town of Mo i Rana at the head of the Ranafjorden. Tomorrow :
