... was very hard indeed and there were several points when I thought I might not make it to the end without stopping, but I kept going, swept along by the runners around me I guess. It started raining about two thirds of the way round, before the race I had hoped it wouldn’t rain, but actually now, it was more than welcome and cooled me down a bit. I can’t tell you the emotions inside me when I saw the finish line, the thoughts of my mum and ...
Saint Albans, England, United Kingdom travelmonster... the hills will usually out-climb you." 6. Barra Airport, Barra, Scotland The airport on the tiny Outer Hebridean Island of Barra is actually a wide shallow bay onto which scheduled planes land with the roughness of landings determined by how the tide went out. 7. Toncontin Airport, Tegucigalpa, Honduras Having negotiated the rough-hewn mountainous terrain, pilots must execute a dramatic 45-degree, last-minute bank to the left just minutes prior to touching down ...
London, England, United Kingdom happysheep... came to mind which is probably a little side effect of all those role-playing games where he has killed us numerous times with his nefarious schemes. Even after spending almost three hours in the galleries it is entirely possible and probable that I missed a fair bit of the artwork it is definitely a place where you might need more than a day if you are a art lover or museum junkie.
London, England, United Kingdom stiletto666... there but I wish I would have. Probably good that we didn't, because it costs an arm and a leg to buy anything here! So, that was my London experience! I wish I could upload some photos, but most places I have been to use the computer (like cafes, don't allow you to plug in anything to the computer, so you all will just have to wait a while for photos!) Well, I think that's all for now, I hope you all are doing well and I MISS EVERYONE!!! Hugs and Kisses, Angela
London, England, United Kingdom angelatickle... three days we have hit about 15+ pubs. Yes, impressive, I know. The next list was of the two hostels we've stayed in so far. The first one was the No. 8. A bit smelly and unorganized. I had a visit from a *****ian in the show**. I swear I locked the door, but apparently I didn't. He then continued to stalk me a bit from that point on. The first night they decided to give Matula's bed ...
London, United Kingdom jeneggener... stores...no Aeropostale or American Eagle or Abercrombie and Fitch though...will be interested to see what she wears now. There were kitchen supply shops, video game and cell phone shops, toy stores, jewelery...all the things you expect to see in an mall, just none of the names I am familliar with. The buildings themselves seemed to shift between traditional buildings which I'm sure are hundreds of years old, and the more contemporary and back ...
St Albans, United Kingdom knaveToday I went to the Tower Bridge. I walked there and arrived there at about 9:30. I ate breakfast at the hostel. I found out that the bridge took 8 years to complete making. Tower Bridge connects Borough to the heart of the City of London Financial District, which is very close to where I was staying so I was able to walk. It was very pretty and large. It welcomed visitors from only 26 years ago ...
London, United Kingdom hyejin... with virtually NO mention of the rugby, as Kath was still in mourning. Arrived in London to cold and rain - what a shock! Checked into our hotel and the gorgeous boys (Mark & Thomas) came to meet us for dinner. Bless them! Had a great feed and some fabulous chattage and then bid them adieu until next time.
London, United Kingdom missfissy... wishes made this journey that much better! Thanks especially to: Lauren, Brent, Ashley, Allison, Becca, Alex, Liz, Lindsey, Bigs, Vicki, Madeline, Chad. I would also just like to say thanks to my parents. When I called to tell them that I was going on this study abroad back in the Fall, I feared they wouldn't take me seriously or would think it frivolous. I was wrong- they were nothing but supportive and that really ...
London, United Kingdom carly819... and Canon neon signs but the round-about and the neon signs w**e so small I nev** guessed wh**e we w**e. "Piccadilly Circus," said Jo. The films, postcards and TV make this place bigg** than it is. I always saw it as a mini-Las Vegas with double deck**s buses swarming und** a giant Fost**'s sign. Even one of the city's top tourist attractions, the "cupid" statue known ...
