WIND. Today we are basically travelling through a tropical storm. VERY windy. 68 mph wind. The upper levels were blocked off because it was too dangerous. Yeah. It’s called hurricane IDA. This trip actually ended up funny once I looked back on it. We flew out for the day to go to the beach and eat some fresh conch salad. My dad has this bright idea to drive our rented golf cart onto the beach. Little did he know, the sand was very soft and we got stuck. We spent hours ...

So we survived the wedding - despite some last minute issues, everything turned out to be simply fabulous. The wedding and reception were BEAUTIFUL! It is so obvious from the pictures that everyone had an amazing time. Thank you everyone who came and shared our special day - we love all of you, and we will keep you in our thoughts as we travel the world. We'll miss you all, but we'll do our best to keep you informed as to our latest adventures!!

We took a bus from Siena to Rome and I wish we would have checked out the buses early on in our trip because we both thought they were easier to use. Also you don't have to drag your luggage up and down the stairs on the trains. It was a three hour ride into Rome to the bus station and then we took a train to the airport to get into our hotel. The other problem is that the Governor of Florida has just declared a state of emergency for Hurricane Alberto. So far only heavy rain and lightning but the worst is due tomorrow. We are on an island, which may not be the best place to be.

Lazy Day...We slept in to the ripe old hour of 9AM. As I was afraid to go outside, I decided to read a book while I waited for my shower. Once we all left our room safely, we decided to check out the local restaurant for breakfast. Emma had a voucher for a free continental breakfast.
