Today is a free day in Kandy, no bikes, no sore bums, no eye watering hills. We visit a few tourist attractions including the Sri Dalada Maligawa where the Sacred Tooth Relic is enshrined. Unfortunately a lot of the front part has been rebuilt due to a suicide bomber attack in the late 90's. From here we visit a lookout over Kandy before going to …

Best day yet, by far. I thought the coast and inland areas were nice, they have nothing on the mountain regions. On the bus, and we make our way to our drop off point. We stop at a small Buddhist temple, which was inserting. Our guide explained a small part of Buddhism in the bus, including some of the iconography. Back on the bus. Today we start …

Kandy was fun. We had a good time at the dance show late at night and we also got to see the tooth relic in a temple there. The relic is supposed to contain Buddha's tooth. The botanical garden was really pretty too. Mom had a blast looking at all the different kinds of flowers and plants. We finished the night off with some authentic Sri Lankan appam and salna!
