I took the sleeper bus to Hoi An which was interesting. The bus has two levels of beds top and bottom. All the westerner travelers were on top and the locals were on the bottom. The beds are small and there's really no room for your bag. Luckily I have a place that I created for mine but other people who are over 6 foot had serious problems.
I found a hotel for $14 a night with internet (not wifi) and a swimming pool. It gets so hot here by mid day all you want do to do sit and relax ...
Despues...
Hoi An, Vietnam dirkmartaOk, so we got on the bus last night and were very disapointed that they didnt have extra room on the sleeper bus for us!! Oh well, you get what you pay for! So the bus ride ưas as per usual, stops every 4 hours or so á there is no toilet on board. Also, a little description of the reckless driving here in Vietnam. People pass each other all the time! in the curve, uphill, in the curve AND uphill, when an 18 wheeler is only 20 m away coming in the opposite direction...etc. This is just wh...
Hoi An, Vietnam ericabgHey Hey! So after writing the last blog, we went walking around town to look at tailor's boutique. There are about 200 tailors in town and they make EVERYTHING, from shoes to bathing suits passing by winter jackets, suits, underwear...etc. We ended up taking one of the first tailor that we saw because we don't really know anything about clothes. So we got inside and started looking at catalogues. They are normal clothes catalogue that you would receive at home and then you point out what you ...
Hoi An, Vietnam ericabgOk, so we made it to Hoi An after 24 hours of sleeping on buses, waiting around, and then more bus action. But Hoi An is a very nice little town which specializes in tailoring and shoe making. We rented bicylces the first day and cruised around looking for good food which we found near the river... wonderful Vietnamese treats, our favorite where the fresh marinated pork spring rolls and the passion/strawberry/lime sorbet. Yummy. Kelly had some clothes made as well as a few pair of shoes and t...

Hoi An, Vietnam kyllikiPhotos: Hoi An - http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=8 4238&l=51ae2&id=718816277 Currently at Nui Me, which I'll get to next entry. Hoi An ------ BEAUTIFUL place. Such a chilled out area, the streets, architecture and people make this one of the must-visit-again locations in Vietnam. I've walked around the town centre about 10 times during my stay and it never gets boring. Walking at night is even more fantastic, the soft yellow lights lit the streets and buildings. But more importantly, th...
Hoi An, Vietnam ly.hoWe arrived in Hoi An at 7am after another all night sleeper bus. This bus wasn't as nice as the first one but we made do. We got off the bus and turned around and found our next lodgings. This hotel is very nice with swimming pool, intricate carvings everywhere nice room and close to everything. $4USD each. Thats like 6 aussie dollars folks... so cheap. Hoi An is amazingly beautiful. The place has been Unesco heritage listed and it feels like stepping back in time. There is a lot of french and...

Hoi An, Vietnam nax
... It was a little bit silly. When King Cong closed we all (every westerner at the bar) picked up and moved out to salsa bar a little ways away. So we finished off our night dancing like fools (i have pictures to prove it). The next day was really low key. I had about a zillion pictures to upload and the internet was slow so I spent a good amount of time on the computer and then wandered around until it was time to catch the bus to Nha Trang at
