Under the weather

We've been taking it easy for the last couple of days as my stomach has been quite queasy and i've had to break into the medicine cabinet we've been carrying around, which takes up half of our luggage for 3 months of voyage.

We are in Hoi An now! It’s SO much better than Saigon, I could stay here the whole time. We are going to China Beach in a few minutes. Internet access is not as good on the iPhone, but there are still computers downstairs that we can use. Binh’s family owns the hotel, restaurants, and several tailor shops. The good times just keep getting better

We have been in Hoi An since Sunday, and every day someone takes us to some family member’s restaurant and we eat amazing food. We literally have spent no money since arriving here. We just got back from Binh’s cousin’s restaurant (the sister of Quynh, the one who owns the clothing shop) and she absolutely spoiled us with goodness. Beach report

Today we went to the beach! I guess it isn't technically China Beach, that's a little further north, between Da Nang and Hoi An. This one is called Cua Dai Beach. The sand is still white (and hot), and the water is clear and lukewarm. I didn't do much swimming because there were jellyfish, unfortunately, and I did feel some stinging. But it was gorgeous.

A perfect day

We’re still waiting for the driver to take us to Quang Ngai, so I thought I’d hop on here for a few minutes.

Yesterday after my dip in the pool, we went back to the tailor for more fittings. Hoi An Blog - Week 1 - 7-14 March 2009 We arrived in Hoi An about 8.30 pm 7th March, via Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, to begin our 9-month volunteering stint for Karen Leonard's Lifestart Foundation www.lifestartfoundation.org.au.
