The first weekend away

... One of the girls told me to get really drunk and I wont remember the night...
First, I am too old to be getting drunk that i dont remember, and second, if it was free, then I could understand but when I spend my money on something, I have a right to be picky.
We went searching for a hotel that was more expensive but up to my standards. and of course its full moon weekend and everything is booked...
On our way back to dinner, we ...

... office. On the way, there were a few children with water pistols at the side of the road opposite a 7/11 spraying water at cars and passers-by. I decided (armed with the world's tiniest pistol that I had received in a Christmas cracker and brought with me for this very purpose) that I'd kamikaze towards them, spray them all, then make a swift retreat. This I managed to do much to the amusement of watching Thais [Rich: Especially because of the way Tom runs! :D ...

Ouch - Our trip ends with a bang!

... how Chauey and I spent hour last days in Thailand. The other girls only went out and about a couple of times, not venturing very far and spent alot of time enjoying the resorts facilities. They did see a monkey show and an elephant show but they weren't overly impressed with that. The airport in Kho Samui is all open air and very well presented, with complimentry drinks and snacks at the counter, even the toilets were nice with a beautiful fishtank ...

As Thailand Turns...

... made on my illness was that my system was basically f'd from the food and water here and then an over prescription of antibiotics and god knows what else. Still feeling pretty good (despite the bout of food poisoning I had yesterday) and I am a believer in natural medicine. Yeah, definitely 3rd world... After nearly three weeks in Cali and living in the lap of luxury, I flew back to Thailand to complete my teaching contract and finish the Thailand chapter ...

... Check out the photos. And that...is that. Sorry for going on so long about the wedding, but it was so amazing it needs full details. Chris will sign off now.. Hi all, we are busy preparing for our two day mission into Loas, I feel like the French dude from the beach, trying to barter our way up there for as cheap as possible. We don't reckon there will be much internet up there so bye-bye to you all for next few days, hope you all working hard : )

Walking the Cow

... ant invasion. Bee, my roommate's hamster, was almost eaten alive during ant invasion #1. She's on the road to recovery. Man, I need to start writing down the "weird" things that happen to me because I can't recall now. It's 11pm and after a rough last night, a long day teaching, a run and then long chat with the bar staff I am ready to lay in my bed and read. I have pictures to post when I am not so lazy and the internet is not so slow. Night.

Off to our island retreat

... the Monarchy was abolished (also in 1935). After looking around a bit (in order to find out the information above!) and doing the obligatory interview with ITV Asia (what do we think about what has happened? Umm... What HAS happened, er.. Who?, Ah... OK... So, who was he....) we left the Wat for the next day and moved off in search of the puppet master! He was much easier to find (than in most detective stories), advertising his work shop with a big sign. It also helped that as we ...

Scooters Save Lives

... endeavored to find our way there. We were immediately set upon by motorcycle taxis, all offering to take us to the beach for a princely sum. Now, we don't have a problem with motorbike taxis per se, but all these tiny scooters didn't really appeal to us. Considering we were carrying our bags we probably weighed around 18 stone each and weren't really ready to sacrifice our lives just yet. Rather than look around for a taxi with more than two wheels, Whim ...

Nakhon Si Thammarat - Allo Madarme!

... the centre. The next stage of our transition into the Thai way of life was to drink copious amounts of Maekhong - a kind of mixture of whisky and navy rum that we had with Coke. We both found ourselves enjoying this traditional beverage! Now feeling more confident in our surroundings, we set off for dinner, and were greeted by some of the locals calling out 'Hello' to us and waving as we passed. Again, this felt quite strange, but in a much more friendly way. The ...
