... now. It was a wonderful trip, full of surprises, the sushi session I was so wanting to be part of and an ice cream competition on the night before our departure. It is amazing in what different light you can see a country and its people. I haven't been in Japan for more than 10 years and was impressed to see what a different view I gained on culture and and traditions. I definitely would love to come back..... Yours truly ...
... the Swiss Alps, Lake Lucerne and cows with bells. *sigh* then, tomorrow, we leave Lucerne for a day of travelling to Paris. Yet, another language swap!!! We are now fluent in 4 languages, which are quite often delivered in the one sentance, eg. Guten Tag, Ciao, Alfreidesein, Bonjourno, etc.........now we need to add French. Yikes!

... never came up. After the gentleman did his inspection and gave us the final paperwork it was one of those “start the car” moments as we raced away dragging our luggage behind us. Once in the airport, our immediate objective was to get rid of our luggage and find a spot (the lounge) to relax until boarding time. As it turned out we could not check in (way too early) and the lounge was on the other side ...

... and it took over 2 hours to get through. Did you know Nestle of Nestle, Maggi of Maggi's and Schweppe of Schweppes were Swiss? I know!! My favourite part was the section about religion in the Middle Ages. There was a Bible from 1200, which was absolutely stunning with calligraphy and gold leaf. I can't imagine how many hours that Monk would have sat and pored over his work. Amazing. The other sections were fantastic as well - a section on furniture from the 1800s ...
