Enjoying a relaxed day in the countryside at my brother's: I had breakfast, sat outside in the sun for a bit, had a shower, had lunch, went for a bike ride (2nd one this year, after about 5 years of not getting on a bike! I'd actually forgotten how to ride a bicycle...) in the deep countryside. Saw some geese, ducks, houses being built, lots and lots of trees and chestnuts on the ground. The sun was warm and the air was fresh. Perfect. But now my bum is a little sore.

After some sweets, we headed to the coast to see what this surf business was all about. It didn't disappoint. Although it was overcast, the walking paths and beaches were stunning. There were plenty of surfers out in the water (see picture) entertaining the masses watching from the boardwalk.

As the food culture in this area is influenced heavily by Spanish cuisine, we headed out for dinner ...

... besøke. Flotte badestrender frister til å bade, og nå mens det blåser, er det mange surfere her. Vi kan bare tenke oss hvor fint det må være her om sommeren. Fortsatt er vi i Baskerland, men Baskisk språk her i Frankrike er forskjellig fra i Spansk Baskerland ble vi fortalt.

Om kvelden spiste vi middag på en restaurant nær sjøen. Endelig skulle vi ha en skikkelig kjøtt-middag ute, vi som hadde ordnet mye av maten ...
