... we had a great coastal walk, in search of la Vierge sur le rocher. We stopped at a café for hot drinks and directions. In addition to the directions, the owners offered us crêpes to share-we got to try their caramel, sugar, nutella and chocolate crêpes. Sweet! :) We had dinner on the way back to the hotel. We're doing great, and creating new friendships with our travel companions, a group from St. Louis, Missouri, and one from Colorado. Good ...

We left behind us the South of France, where we had a nice camping spot with the surf break just down the hill. We met a young couple from Holland and Denmark where we socialised with and dusted off some boardgames we took with us.

It was 8 o'clock, yet we got one of the first tables at Txotx, a traditional Basque cafe, recommended by our guide. By the time we left - closer to 10, the place was filling with locals. A delicious dinner! Becca's corner: Axoa of course! A Basque veal stew for dinner. And piperade, a sauce made of local peppers tomatoes, onions, ham and ...

... we had lunch. Crossed into France again. We had been paying motorway tolls all day in Spain, and now had to pay our share to France! Very trying and expensive at times. Noted the road signs are still in two languages- now French and Basque. Arrived at our camp for the night in the small town of Orhez. Needed to try our poor French again but we managed. Soft rain as we finished dinner. Hope for a quiet night. Tomorrow I ...

      First Hostel!

... open so we could drop off our bags, as they were taking their toll. Had a walk up to the 'citadel' which is over 600years old and beautiful! Also had a walk through the town and stopped off to have a few beers. When we finally got into our hostel @ 3pm and I sparked up a conversation with an Austrian guy who is on his 2nd Camino and a German guy who is a bit quiet but, he's alright! We also have a dutch girl following us who is really nice but does ...
