... I just continued and found strength I wasn’t sure that I had. From the top, we descended slowly into Ostabat. We stopped there for cold lemonades and directions to our refuge. It was only 1km away, and I eagerly walked this last bit. The refuge was advertised as being Basque-run, and it indeed had the look typical to Basque homes. It was also a working farm and we were promised a dinner fresh from the farm. Here, we again met ...

    Day 47-

It was a challenging walk today, but luckily my foot was doing much better. I was able to handle the hills and rocky trails very well. This trail would have been nearly impossible for me two days ago. For most of the day we were right behind the three guys from the night before, and when they stopped for breaks, we would run into them.

She even offered us cold drinks, which was ...

... grapes are found in the town markets. Come to think of it, the town-square market in Bayonne reminds me of Oxbow Market in Napa. The Camino de Santiago (or known simply as the "Camino") began as a religious pilgrimage to visit the bones of the patron Saint James at the cathedral at Santiago de Campostela along the coast of Spain. The faithful would make a pilgrimage at least once in their lives to visit the relics by following this ...

... A perfect balance in our eyes. I just wish I had started taking pics of the food we have been eating! We have separate living quarters from the family, which we share with the other helpers, Daniel from Spain (also a Chef, as is Gwen) and Erin from the US (fluent in French too). So we have our own kitchen, bathroom and lounge with fire.
Relaxed environment but we do work for our keep, which is nice as you are in good company ...
