Cruise to the small village of Durnstein where Richard III was once a prisoner. A short walk and back to the boat for a cruise through the Wachau valley. Another tour, this time of the City Center in Vienna and although most of the shops are closed, we still get a feel for this vibrant city. Still lots of touristy places open and get some good pictures. Stopped at one of their cafes and had to try one of the coffees we learned about yesterday. I called it the " Mother Theresa"' although it is actually the "Maria Teriasa"' which is milk coffee ...
... in Vienna after all!
Unfortunately for me, the early summer heat had played havoc with my body and I woke up with pretty bad prickly heat all over my neck shoulders and bizarrely, my right hand.
Not in the best of moods, the pair of us headed off, subsequently missing our tram by about ten seconds. On our arrival in Grinzing, we then crammed onto a hot, sweaty bus with far too many people on it to endure the long crawl up the hill ...
... today. I give it 2 hours before the entire ship's passengers and crew are informed. Life on board is a VERY small community. Hey ho!
Tonight we have plans to jump ship, and walk to the nearest town where we have been advised to try a local taverna. Sounds like fun.
And tomorrow we have our last bike ride, a real corker if Leslie Entertainment Manager is to be believed. Boo hoo.
