... UK!

Brussels airport is emptier than I have ever seen it in my life. There are no more than 10 flights for the rest of the day. Eric and I are alone in the airport lounge, save for a couple of elderly people and their miniature poodle, which is snacking on a croissant.

We are waiting for our flight - it is delayed by half an hour as I write this. That's just fine, in fact, it can be delayed until ...

Antwerp, Antwerpen, Belgium europapart123... much money to spend. I had absolutely no problem just going to a modestly sized city in a different country. And in the end was very happy I did! It was about a 3 hour bus ride to Antwerp, and ~30 EU round trip. The train would have been faster, but was double the price, and more time than money ruled out. I liked bus rides anyway. Found out that buses here also play movies loudly in other languages. Or English too. How else would I have an ...

Brussels, Belgium frenglishblabla... with Gary in Sierra Vista (close to the Mexican border) and with Howard en Christina in Sandy City (Salt Lake City area). So it is only the distance between Phoenix and Salt Lake City that has no couch for us waiting. And Ed in ...
Antwerp, Belgium topanga... medieval influences but were different in their own ways. Behind the alter at St. Bavo's was a massive corridor of art, the most famous being the original painting by the Van Eyck Brothers, "The Raising of the Lamb of God". Since this is the original a few pieces are missing as they have been stolen over the years and the Flemish Minister of Culture has put up a 200,000 euro reward for someone who can give a successfull lead to their return ...
Gent, Belgium norski... I am so glad we did. It is a beautiful church on the outside, but the inside is fantastic! They are in the process of restoring the church, but we managed to see all of it. I was really glad we went inside. I didn't have time to make it to a museum, but that means I will have to go back. We met up with Nat to head to the train station. First, we stopped and bought Belgian waffles and then we headed to the station. They were quite tasty, but we ended up being ...

Brussels, Belgium kimberk03... were friendlier, I was impressed that they spoke five languages, and the canals through the city were very nice. The only downside was the clouds that hovered above us all day. Still, we enjoyed ourselves. Since this is so late in coming, I'm going to tell it mostly through pictures. See the photo descriptions for more info. Hope everyone's having a wonderful new year.
Brussels, Belgium keljeron... the Bahamas to celebrate. It was great. And before heading back to A'dam, we got to spend the day with my G-pa Stanley and Elaine too. Again, it was a great trip and a wonderful stay in the US. And last weekend we went to Maastricht for Carnival. It was a really fun weekend! I'm sure you will hear about this soon. But finally, after much procrastination, here is our trip to the Ardennes for my b-day and to Antwerp for Julie's b-day... ============================== BELGIUM FOR SBK ...
