Day 9 - Jackson Hole, Grand Tetons

A travel blog entry by joe3523

We got another late start today. We started towards the Grand Teton around 11:00 AM. We drove approximately 50 miles today.

Note: do not hike any Grand Teton Trail in the afternoon. Jennifer's Lake was CROWDED. This is a moderate hike when full packing and technically low. If you want to hike this, you should go early in the morning. This …

We got up late today, 8:00 AM. After packing up the camp site we got on the road to Jackson, WY. We drove approximately 80 miles today.

Today was mostly an off day of driving and site seeing of the Grand Tetons on the way to Jackson. We found a room at Wyoming Inn of Jackson Hole for cheaper than the Hampton Inn. This is the best room we …

Travel from Henry's Fork to Jackson

Today we had to leave our new home away from home and say our goodbyes to Bill and Teresa, the wonderful hosts at the Henry's Fork Ranch. It was a beautiful morning and the best of the three days that we were here. We took our time getting packed up and departed about noon. What eases the pain of having to leave is knowing that we will return in …

Grand Teton National Park & Jackson Hole

Today began early. We made a quick stop in the Old Faithful gift shop for last minute souvenirs. We ate breakfast at the dining room in the Old Faithful Inn. We opted for their breakfast buffet. The dining room is done in the quaint cabin style architecture, its rather large and has some interesting stained glass windows. The food was great with …

Jackson Hole-Perfect end to our trip

A travel blog entry by j3mlee

We ended the trip with an overnight stay in Jackson Hole. Our stay at the Wyoming Inn was a perfect end to our Yellowstone/Grand Teton trip and we enjoyed the amenities of this hotel after staying in the more spartan national park lodging. The Inn had well-decorated rooms with extremely comfortable beds. We paid $189 for our room. The extras …

It was very fancy and had fantastic rooms, a breakfast buffet and cookies. It is situated about a mile outside of Jackson Hole proper

    Best value in town.

    from

I and my family were in Jackson for 3 days, and two nights at the begining of June and needed a base from which to attend a convention and also see some business clients. We booked two rooms at the Red Lion based on the reviews here and we were not disappointed.

Wyoming Inn - great rooms, wonderful extras

    from

Our family - 9 of us ranging in ages from 10 to 75- just returned from a week-long trip to various places in Wyoming and S. Dakota. The Wyoming Inn was our favorite lodging of all (for everyone). The rooms are immaculate and upscale with lots of wood accents. Showers are great. The lobby is warm and welcoming, we spent lots of time by the fireplace playing games and reading the books on the coffee tables. The warm cookies each night brought us out of our rooms to chat by the tv or the fire. The internet access gave the teenagers a chance to catch up with their friends. The complementary beverages in the lobby made it feel more like home than anywhere else we stayed. We were here for 2 nights and were sorry to leave. I would highly recommend the Wyoming Inn to anyone visiting Jackson.

    Very nice hotel

    from

Very nice hotel with large rooms/bathrooms. Very clean. Friendly staff. The only downside is that the hotel is located a little far away from downtown, - you need a car to go downtown. Would definitely stay there again.

Red Lion's Wyoming Inn is WONDERFUL

    from

We travel a LOT and stay some very nice places. Red Lion's Wyoming Inn is a cut above, trust me. The furnishings are all high quality and wonderful. Berber carpet, plaid blankets, paintings in the bathroom.......many little touches that make this place extra special. Their idea of a continental breakfast is special also. Someone served us coffee and hot sweet rolls (delicious!), and cleared our plates. There are beverages available all day and sometimes sweets as well. We are VERY impressed with this hotel, to say the least. Bravo to its owner and staff.

    Great Comfortable Hotel!

    from

After sleeping in some rough overpriced accomodations in Yellowstone Park (cabins/inns) we spent the last night at the Red Lion and we were ecstatic! We had a standard room and it was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The only drawback is that it is not within walking distance to the downtown area. It isn't far to drive but a little too far to walk. The Red Lion is similar to a nice Marriot but with more character. Plus we had a weekday rate of $99!

    Excellent hotel and staff

    from

Wonderful hotel and staff. The rooms are large with fireplace. The hotel serves large cont. breakfast along with drinks and treats throughout the day, all free of charge. The hotel also provides internet service and laundry facilities free of charge. The staff are helpful and pleasant. I would recommend this hotel to all travelers.

    Lovely hotel

    from

Went in off the street looking for 2 night's accommodation. The staff was wonderful, very friendly and determined to offer us a price we were happy with. The rooms are beautiful, the breakfast bountiful and the staff so very friendly. Would not hesitate to recommend it or stay here again. Ask them for their best price..you wil be surprised!

L-O-V-E-D the Red Lion/Wyoming Inn in Jackson!

    from

We had the absolute best time in Jackson....and we were fortunate enough to stay at the Wyoming Inn (Red Lion). What a wonderful experience......from the full spread breakfast in the morning to the hot chocolate chip cookies at night. We even got to check our emails at the computer center! The staff was so friendly and the atmosphere so warm - we didn't want to go home! Yes---we'll stay there again! It was the ultimate "Wyoming" experience!

Oh a piece of heaven on Earth!

    from

What a terrific Inn! So charming, cozy and romantic! We had our dog with us and they made us feel so welcomed and comfy! The decor was so charming. The fireplace made us feel right at home! Was close to town yet a skip away so it wasnt noisey! Plenty of area to take leisurely walks! The lobby made you feel like you were walking into your home! The front desk service was superb! The hotel were extremely affordable and the amenities were outstanding! I can hardly wait to return next winter and this time we are going to stay a week and make the ride to Yellowstone cause the hotel is worth staying at!

    Overpriced average hotel

    from

This hotel is much more expenisve than it should be. There are other hotels within walking distance that are equally nice and $50-125 less expensive. The hotel also was very difficult to deal with in changing reservations and double charged us for the room.
