... living that the States has to offer.

We were soon back on the highway for another eleven hours of driving... We did 540 miles on the same Interstate - just one long haul.

At time of writing I am back in Lexington, Nebraska. I have booked train tickets for the final part of the adventure - Chicago, Cleveland and New York, since I cannot bear to drive another mile!

... keep the water from getting up in the engine. While we were talking, the cows had come over to take look, walk into the water and generally just get in the way. Managed to get past them and on our way.

We walked out onto the edge of the reservoir to see what we could see. There were lots of ground squirrels, and a swan gliding across the reservoir. There were flickers moving about and raptors calling as they glided overhead but no wolves ...

... to the music. What's nice surprise for a Wed afternoon. Some little facts I learned: Jackson is the name of the town, Jackson Hole is the region. They know you are a tourist if you refer to the town as Jackson Hole. Bison and Buffalo are the same species. The difference is just in what the locals where you are call them. The continental divide is just the division of the watershed. Water to the East of the divide flows to the Atlantic, water to the West flows to the ...

You can even see Blacktail Butte in the movie. If you are interested in seeing a clip, try searching for a you tube video of the Rocky IV training montage.

This room was cheaper than the Hampton Inn and extremely nice. The bathroom is all tile and the bed is king and extremely comfortable.

It was very fancy and had fantastic rooms, a breakfast buffet and cookies. It is situated about a mile outside of Jackson Hole proper

    Best value in town.

I and my family were in Jackson for 3 days, and two nights at the begining of June and needed a base from which to attend a convention and also see some business clients. We booked two rooms at the Red Lion based on the reviews here and we were not disappointed.

The rate was $129 a night, per room, which was abit more then some of the old Jackson motels and motor inns, but for the extra $30 per room the quality was excellent. The rooms were spotless, large, well appointed and exceptionally quiet. They showed no wear what so ever.

The kitchen in the lobby was nice, quaint and more then sufficient for a continental type breakfast, no real warm items, but it was fine by me and most everyone else who stayed there. Nice little internet room on the second floor.

The hotel was right on the main road, which is why I was shocked it was so sound proof, but it's very convienient. Drive to down town take all of two minutes, lots of shopping and stores in walking distance, with a few decent places to eat right across the street.

Summary, I wouldn't stay any where else in Jackson in this price range. You can't miss here.

Wyoming Inn - great rooms, wonderful extras

Our family - 9 of us ranging in ages from 10 to 75- just returned from a week-long trip to various places in Wyoming and S. Dakota. The Wyoming Inn was our favorite lodging of all (for everyone). The rooms are immaculate and upscale with lots of wood accents. Showers are great. The lobby is warm and welcoming, we spent lots of time by the fireplace playing games and reading the books on the coffee tables. The warm cookies each night brought us out of our rooms to chat by the tv or the fire. The internet access gave the teenagers a chance to catch up with their friends. The complementary beverages in the lobby made it feel more like home than anywhere else we stayed. We were here for 2 nights and were sorry to leave. I would highly recommend the Wyoming Inn to anyone visiting Jackson.

    Very nice hotel

Very nice hotel with large rooms/bathrooms. Very clean. Friendly staff. The only downside is that the hotel is located a little far away from downtown, - you need a car to go downtown. Would definitely stay there again.

Red Lion's Wyoming Inn is WONDERFUL

We travel a LOT and stay some very nice places. Red Lion's Wyoming Inn is a cut above, trust me. The furnishings are all high quality and wonderful. Berber carpet, plaid blankets, paintings in the bathroom.......many little touches that make this place extra special. Their idea of a continental breakfast is special also. Someone served us coffee and hot sweet rolls (delicious!), and cleared our plates. There are beverages available all day and sometimes sweets as well. We are VERY impressed with this hotel, to say the least. Bravo to its owner and staff.

    Great Comfortable Hotel!

After sleeping in some rough overpriced accomodations in Yellowstone Park (cabins/inns) we spent the last night at the Red Lion and we were ecstatic! We had a standard room and it was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The only drawback is that it is not within walking distance to the downtown area. It isn't far to drive but a little too far to walk. The Red Lion is similar to a nice Marriot but with more character. Plus we had a weekday rate of $99!

    Excellent hotel and staff

Wonderful hotel and staff. The rooms are large with fireplace. The hotel serves large cont. breakfast along with drinks and treats throughout the day, all free of charge. The hotel also provides internet service and laundry facilities free of charge. The staff are helpful and pleasant. I would recommend this hotel to all travelers.

    Lovely hotel

Went in off the street looking for 2 night's accommodation. The staff was wonderful, very friendly and determined to offer us a price we were happy with. The rooms are beautiful, the breakfast bountiful and the staff so very friendly. Would not hesitate to recommend it or stay here again. Ask them for their best price..you wil be surprised!

L-O-V-E-D the Red Lion/Wyoming Inn in Jackson!

We had the absolute best time in Jackson....and we were fortunate enough to stay at the Wyoming Inn (Red Lion). What a wonderful experience......from the full spread breakfast in the morning to the hot chocolate chip cookies at night. We even got to check our emails at the computer center! The staff was so friendly and the atmosphere so warm - we didn't want to go home! Yes---we'll stay there again! It was the ultimate "Wyoming" experience!

Oh a piece of heaven on Earth!

What a terrific Inn! So charming, cozy and romantic! We had our dog with us and they made us feel so welcomed and comfy! The decor was so charming. The fireplace made us feel right at home! Was close to town yet a skip away so it wasnt noisey! Plenty of area to take leisurely walks! The lobby made you feel like you were walking into your home! The front desk service was superb! The hotel were extremely affordable and the amenities were outstanding! I can hardly wait to return next winter and this time we are going to stay a week and make the ride to Yellowstone cause the hotel is worth staying at!

    Overpriced average hotel

This hotel is much more expenisve than it should be. There are other hotels within walking distance that are equally nice and $50-125 less expensive. The hotel also was very difficult to deal with in changing reservations and double charged us for the room.
