The Weed Spot

A travel blog entry by keshiak

We left Santa Monica around 8am this morning with the intention of getting into Sacramento, setting up camp at the KOA, and relaxing for the rest of the day. However, once we got into Sacramento around 2pm, we said - to hell with this, what's another 4.5 hours?! And kept heading north, hoping to hit Klamath Falls with enough time to set up our tent and freeze our asses off. We rolled ...

Exploring Lake Shasta and around

... filled with duck water!......... but we like this quiet place for a one night or two stop over. Abrams Lake Mobile Home and RV Park is located in the shade of tall Ponderosa Pines, offers full hookups, WiFi and a 54 channel cable TV lineup for as many as a dozen travelers and a bargain price of $29 a night. We lay low for the balance of the day and enjoy the peace, quiet and wonderful smells of the forest that surrounds us.

The remainder of the PCT is only 900 miles from the southern Oregon border. We talked for awhile and it turns out he was an old cross country bicycle tourist crossing from Seattle, WA to New York, NY ...
