We are having a wonderful stay here in Western Pennsylvania! We decided to make the long 6-hr drive across the state all in one sitting on Friday night. We've booked three nights here at Candlewood Suites. And, in fact, due to a changed schedule, it's both possible and advantageous for us to stay here an additional two nights, so that gives us five nights here in this suite.
We stayed at a Candlewood the weekend ...

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States jimcabay... It seemed very crowded and we found it hard to get around as there were so many small highways and freeways competing for space and crossing each other to include the numerous bridges. Several one-way streets only added to the confusion. A number of the tourist attractions were closed for the season and the main parks not only lacked color and cleanliness but were also under construction.
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States jimcabay... spend one more day longer with this guy, there is definitely no way I could've kept my mouth shut next time he said something so ignorant and ridiculous.

The crepes were artfully done, but a world away from the crepes I ordered last time. Definitely not sugar overload, and tasting decidedly "more healthy" than yesterday. If that is indeed possible with crepes in the first place.

The Andy Warhol Museum was just as I expected it would be. A big giant loft space, full of pop ...
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States starlagurl... wasn't that she was in "period" character, she just really talked like somebody from the early 19th century. You could tell she just lived and breathed this house. I WISH I had a video, just of her. I should have asked her to talk to me outside....

After a tour of the rest of the grounds on our own, and a visit to the art gallery, (which had a really great photography exhibit on an old children's hospital) we were off to the strip district for a kind of walking lunch tour ...

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States mariaapalermo... I had someone sitting between us. He was a young college graduate on his way home to South Korea. We sat on the runway for an hour and then we were airborn again. We settled into our 13 hour trip alternately eating, sleeping, watching movies, practicing Korean and walking the aisle. We had our first Korean meal of bibimbop on the plane and we even received a little set of directions on how to put it together to eat it. I watched three ...
