When you look at a map of Vancouver Island and see where Tofino is in relation to Victoria, it seems not so far away...well, even without stops (which we always have plenty of time for), it is a 4-1/2 hour drive north from Vancouver then west over the mountains running up the spine of the island. We awoke this morning to a very stiff wind (maybe 20-25 kts) out of the southwest. The positive part is that it kept the clouds and moisture away - the day was bright and pleasant (when not on the beach). Temps were cool, not really getting out of the 40s.
