    ... polish beer (shout-out to the ancestors!).

    The following weekend Avery and I met up with some of her classmates to stop by the 41st annual Steel City Beer and Cider Festival at the nearby Kelham Island Museum. (Note: Sheffield used to be a huge steel manufacturer and most of it was produced in Kelham Island). There was even a live band (of the brass and horns variety) that played the Jurassic Park theme song. Weird, but awesome.

    It was dull and grey, typical England but at least it was dry.

    Tanked up in Portsmouth and set off up the M27.

    Just before the A34 it started to rain and the traffic was horrendous. The M40 was at a standstill.
    It eventually thinned out on the A43 ...

    ... organised for Sept 2nd and needless to say, I was spoilt. We even had American, Canadian and British themed plates and napkins! My wonderful team clubbed together to get me some lovely, useful gifts for my trip such as; travel sized smellies, travel wash-bag and a travel document folder.     ... but we were still good enough to win if we played well. We lost the toss and found ourselves bowling first. We started off well as Conisbrough weren't scoring very quickly but we also weren't picking up many wickets. Ian picked up the first wicket with me taking a skied catch at point.
