Flights were not too bad - no one coughing up a lung this time - although they did do the usual "if there is a doctor, nurse or paramedic on board please make yourself known " etc!! ... never really make any progress.
My aim is simply to be able to use key phrases and recite a sentence stating I speak English and very little Japanese. The hiragana is part of my more long-term goal of fluency!

... I found out that there is no taxi rank at Meadowhall train station. It meant I had to walk home, but at least I know now and can book a taxi when I return to the country.
Tomorrow, I leave at 6:30am making my way to Manchester to fly to Orlando. I've booked my seat and will be sat at the window so I can watch the ground crew and other activities on the airfield. Don't blame me, I'm an engineer.
