... smooth (no screaming kids this time either) & once it leaves the suburbs it really does get going. Unfortunately we were about 20 mins late getting in, due to a signal fault along the line. Poor Dave trying to get our suitcases off when we arrived, he was jostled, pushed and generally everyone seemed to want to make it as difficult as possible. The taxi rank outside was interesting too, there was a guy directing us to a taxi, but we both felt he was looking after his ...

Not a very exciting day today. We'd booked tickets on the 10am train, so were up and moving early. First stop - Regensburg, Bavaria Regensburg is a UNESCO world heritage site about one hour north of Munich. It's a gorgeous little city, ...

... to allay my fears. The taxi's didn't like our loads of cases but we found two to take us and Emily met us not long after checking in. The weather was drizzly. That evening we went out for dinner. Luckily the menu had English translation on it. The food was all to die for (the price was similar, but I am a cheapskate). I had pasta in truffle oil with rocket and Parma ...

... 90 minutes pretty quick really but we still had enough time to visit the bar for a drink.. It's always 12 o'clock somewhere in the world right? The feeling on the bus this morning was great! Everyone happy and excited to be starting Contiki most of us had been planning this for months and it was finally happening. For me it was surreal, I didn't know what to expect and my adventure was only just ...
