Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom puretravel... pancakes here. Mmmmm.

I also have to pack today because I'm leaving very very early (as in, bus leaves at 3am to get to Gatwick by 8:30am) tomorrow morning to go to Pisa and Florence for three nights. Super excited about that! I've never been to Pisa, so will have to do the touristy thing and check out that leaning tower. I went to Florence when I was really little, but I think I'll appreciate things like the Uffizi Gallery much more now. Plus, you know my feelings on ...

Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom purejulie... in town that does a 20% student discount and then went to the reading. It was in Dragon's Hall, which is one of the oldest buildings in Norwich. It was a very atmospheric setting for poetry. High ceilings with big oak beams supporting it. I think it's called Dragon's Hall because between two beams there is this quite beautiful dragon made out of ironwork. The poetry was really impressive too - and it inspired me to write a poem of my own.

I ...

Saxmundham, England, United Kingdom jamjam... A couple of people in my flat have been intrigued by my vegetarian cooking, but also seem to be impressed by how colourful and nice the meals I cook look. So next week I am teaching Sam and maybe Bish (both live in my flat) to cook some veggie meals. Should be fun! Am going to convince them to come to the markets with me to buy the veggies so that they get a feel for the whole process.

I'm also making morning tea tomorrow (scones) for Jenny, who is moving out of our flat ...
Norwich, England, United Kingdom hannahfoster... I joined the creative writing group (I figure the more help and practice I can get the better), the Art society (you get to try a different medium each week, including pottery and life drawing!) and the international students' society.

I think the ISS is going to be really good here. UEA (the university) has a huge contingent of inetrnational students, so they are the biggest society I think. They seem to run a lot of events too - there are themed dinners ...
Norwich, England, United Kingdom hannahfoster... more cake and coffee!

We decide to make a slow wander home – we stop a couple of times, first at Grimes Graves, which are flint mines that were dug over 5,000 years ago, and afterwards in Thetford to get some lunch, before returning home.
West Tofts, England, United Kingdom travelmonster... on, and tried (unsuccessfully) to serupticiously take photos of two policemen with big guns. i went for another quicky cheeky victoria in a jazz bar (in mexico? wheres the mariachi?!) and then ambled back down to the station. san cristobal bus station has to be one of the friendliest places in all of mexico! the lady i'd bought my ticket from had been lovely, the bag storage lady remembered me from earlier, and i had a right old natter with martin, the guy you check your bags ...
Bury St. Edmunds, United Kingdom netballliz... sad that we couldn't go swimming with them because Audrye and I really wanted to! Then we had a beautiful meal that the Grandparents made outside! After the meal, we went back over to Karen's house and hung out the one load and then put in another load. We played some Dutch Blitz, which Rebeka won! We took the loads off the line and took them back to the Grandparent's house and put them all around our room on hangers to dry then went to bed!
