... the scenery. While Munnar itself is sucky, the beauty behind it is in the countryside amongst the endless rolling tea plantations and waterfalls. I get overcharged and walk back into town. So far this is my first bad day in India in the last 3.5 weeks here. I decide to shag ass outta Munnar and head back to the coast to Kochin, an old colonial fortress. I check the trains and hardly surprised I find that the only way out of Munnar is by taxi. At this point I no longer care and go.
Munnar, Kerala, India sangria1269... since I am only 4 months expert in driving and cannot take risk, so I thought Sreeni can take this as he is veteran in driving. As narrated he made it coolly and reached home by 7.45pm. Everyone was tired because of sleepless travel. We had our food which was absolutely delicious. The hospitality was really good in Glendale (Waterfall guesthouse), The guy named Veera taken care completely and made our trip enjoyable untill checkout. Time struck 9.30pm and we turned to our bed with ...
Chennai - Valparai, Tamil Nādu, India vinu135... in like fog (This is KLR radio… stay OUT of the fog!) we can see the most amazing views right from our door.
Our room is sodden with damp, but it has a fireplace, hot water and a western toilet so we’re sold. But then I notice the rug is soaking, they say the doors were open with the rain. Hmmm…. I’m not convinced. Then Dan and I lie down on the bed and are sure we can see sky through the corrugated metal roof, we pray ...
... the mountainside, the serpentines disappearing behind the screeching brakes, the burning of rubber and carbon mingling to make an acrid smell in the air, reminding the boys of pistol smoke. The thought soon disappeared, as even Fabor felt like looking out the window and taking deep breaths of the occasional fresh breeze that cut through the smell of burning brakes, to suppress the need for spewing back the morning white Russian and caviar.
The bus never slowed for the speed bumps ...

He can only devote part of his time to the Windermere so we were fortunate to be there for one of his pre-dinner drinks parties in the library. The drink consisted of either a large measure of gin with fresh lemon juice and water or a soft drink. Rob was delighted and made up for Vernee's on-going inability to drink gin while Cameron took himself off to the corner where he appeared to ...
Munnar, India samuelkeys... Park, Kumily, and Periyar National Park. The road passed forests, small homes in the woods, tea and coffee crops, cardamom under canopy, and waterfalls, with views of distant mountains sometimes enshrouded in mist, other times in a blue haze, sometimes in a rainy fog. At one bus station, I saw a blind man begging in an empty bus. Painted signs called attention to the Popular Front, the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Jewelry Stores, and Hotels ...
Kumily and Munnar, India lraleighAfter one ferry crossing, four rickshaws, two trains, two buses and a night's stay in a small town (with no internet connection) called Mettupalayam, I've finally arrived in Ooty! It actually wasn't as horrible as it sounds. Ooty is over 2000m above sea level and I am certainly feeling the change in temperature. I only arrived this morning and i have already bought some cheap shoes and a highly flammable synthetic fleece! The room in my guest house even has a blanket and an ...
