... thighs were those hills were brutal!! My thighs screamed and I suffered. I was so relieved with each downhill or flat to be able to run again and often overtook the more cautious but they soon sped past me on the climbs. Had Roseberry Topping not given me the power to climb! I only smiled to support other runners or to fool the supporters into thinking I was enjoying myself.I didn't ast long in my waterproof as I warmed up very quickly. ... about getting Hoka's so asked a few people what they thought of their's and tried to remember which ones not to get as I wanted them slip away!

Up from the stream and onto to the Moor I forgot we headed down to the Lyke Wake route before we head up to the Cross. It was great to see John Vernon and Mark Dalton there, poor lads as this would be the last check point too so they would be out for a long time.

... providing a great backdrop to the black sky. We didn't really stay long but had a good taste of what the Goth weekend was and took a lot of photos. We then headed back up the hill to the Whitby Rugby Club for the night's entertainment. They'd done a good job of decorating the place and many people there also made an effort on the dressing up front. We left around midnight....and returned back to the cottage. It had been a great day.

Set off northwards. Reached the Humber Bridge and had a picnic lunch sitting out overlooking the bridge and the river. Then went to Bempton Cliffs. Supposedly millions of nesting birds but wrong time of year! There were almost no birds when we parked and walked ...
