    ... next course for my dinner companion. It looked nice and he said it was tasty.

    I was then served an onion soup which was delicious but not quite hot enough. Again, I know Chef Desai is obsessed with ensuring that food is delivered to the table at the appropriate temperature. Hot food hot and cold food cold. I did not say anything because I didn't want to seem as if every course had a problem but....

    ... to get there, oh well, we'd better get our walking feet on then! Left the site and walked the 2 miles or so DOWN into Keswick, out the other side through a few fields into Portinscale, gave a little wave to our cottage and followed the signs to the lake, several miles later we arrived at the bottom of Catbells, skirted around this and onto the waters edge, we weren't really sure where the carving was but soon ...

    ... lunch we sat on down on a few piles of rocks, which weren't the most comfortable only to find 5 mins further on, a picnic bench!!!!! Spent a lovely afternoon in the sunshine, balancing on logs ( it had to be done) and eventually made our way back to the car. We were going to go back to the site and then go back in to Keswick for chippies but the traffic was soooooo bad we decided just to stop en-route park ...

    ... a slice of cake. Back on the trail again this time dropping on to the shore line of Derwentwater where Meg the dog was in here element coz she could have a swim in the lake. Spent another hour or so wandering along the shore before arriving back into Keswick where we stopped for a cuppa tea, Howard had cake, we were good :-) . Wandered through the high street popping in a few shops, Meg got a new toy and treats from her favourite doggy shop and we got sweeties ( ...

    ... up! Keswick was buzzing, very very busy with walkers, families enjoying the sunshine and dogs, lots of dogs! Our first mission was to purchase a pair of trousers for me, didn't think to pack any when we left home! and as we were going to be doing a few peaks this week I felt they maybe necessary! Once purchased, only tried 3 shops n tried 5 pairs on (not bad for me) we set of in search of lunch. I was told there was a wetherspoons in Keswick so after wandering around abit I went in ...
