    ... for Guy Fawkes day. For anyone unfamiliar, a dude named Guy Fawkes tried to blow up parliament in 1605 and failed. To celebrate his torture and execution, the people lit bonfires and the tradition has continued through the years. It's a bit odd, but then again so is Thanksgiving to the British. So anyway, we saw a huge bonfire and fireworks last night.

    Saturday 23 August
    The final day in Europe is dry and windy. We get our heads down and fly down the highway to Rotterdam where we board the P&O ferry for the trip to Hull. It's a bleak and increasingly industrialised landscape, and I am not tempted to stop and take any photographs. The tour is over and we just want to get home and rest up.
