The one we have been waiting for! The Ouse has some reputation and needs to be treated with a great deal of respect. It is fast flowing, tidal and not very wide in places for a big river, which then emphasizes the speed of the flow.
John and I go and have a look past the lock to see what is happening with the River and we don't like what we see! How many logs, branches and floating islands do ...

... a "duck weed" issue on the Selby Canal but were surprised on how much there was and how green it was, it didn't look like there was a canal at all, under the luminous green covering.
Selby is a very pleasant small town and we moored in the basin at the junction with the River Ouse, well placed for our for our early set off time with tide on the way up to York ...

We are on the way again after a week at home. John and Vanessa join us at Lemonroyd Lock by the Marina and we head off on the second stage of our summer trip. First stop is Castleford to fill up with diesel, a simple process you might think, just like filling the car!!

A very busy week at home, can't believe how much everything in the garden had grown, it took both of us 3 days to tidy up. Need to get back to the boat for a rest!! Good to be on dry land for a few days but looking forward to the next stage in the trip on the Tidal River Ouse up to York, in time for the start of the Tour de France. ...

... roast for dinner. This was very yummy, although as per usual Noah didn't appreciate much of it. It's a good thing they have bananas here because that's the main thing Noah seems to eat! While I made dinner, Josh took Noah down to the yard for a play. It's so nice to have so much room! Most nights since we've been here, we think we'll watch a movie... And most nights we fall asleep after about half an hour... Tonight was no different. :-) Nigh-night..! ...
