I hate the title. I will never again get to write it this way, because even if I come back for holiday the "last night" won't be the same after a couple of weeks as it is after 2 years.
I feel like all my recent blogs are depressing but it's in a positive way.... If there can be such a thing. It's only sad and depressing because it's been so amazing, I wouldn't be so sad if I couldn't wait to leave. If Africa was horrible and the people too then I'd ...

3 Sep Just as we start to feel settled, it's our second to last week and we're feeling sad about the thought of leaving all these wonderful people we have met and love. I drove Naomi and Tim to Lamontville in the pouring ...

Tonight was the farewell night for the Szabo's. Time for them to leave South Africa. The first of our "Team" to leave. We all started this journey of volunteer work last January 2013. The Team being Matt Billelo (an American, who had been here for the previous 2 years). Yvette (a local who had joined Copt as the volunteer coordinator.) Jess Miller (from America) and the Szabo's (Rick, Sonya, Jude, Zane and Charlotte, also from America) we have been the "long term" ...

A NORMAL UNIQUE DAY

... chance to do that today, and every week before this. That i get the chance to be in these kids lives. Not just to help, but along with 4 other people, all of who are unqualified OT therapists, we are giving these children a chance to do what they didn’t think or know they can do. These kids should be getting daily OT care but their not, so we’re it. And knowing that is overwhelming, life changing, unbelievable.
