Leading up to my due date Cath had mentioned she wanted to Skype. With everything going the way pregnancy had gone I assumed I would go early so when Cath asked to Skype on Sunday the 15th June (the day before my due date) I thought I'd be introducing her to her new nephew. I also figured this, because Cath doesn't Skype, she just doesn't like it and refuses to do it so it's not how we stay in contact, so considering she WANTED to Skype I found it surprisingly so figured I ...

Moses Afrika Wright finally arrived. I'm still not quite sure that it's sunk in, not just that he's here but that it all happened the way it, the fact that I've even had this pregnancy the last 9 months here in South Africa and that I'm about to start a new chapter with this new little man in our lives.

I have 4 days to go till my due date. 4 days till the 16th of June. 16th of June is a public holiday here for “Youth Day” a day that commemorates the start of the Soweto Riots on the 16th June 1976. The day is celebrated in order to recognise the role of the youth in the liberation of South Africa from the Apartheid Regime. Quite a notable day for my own little South African should he decide to enter the world on his due date. but ...

I’ve fallen in love. It wasn’t love at first sight but over time i have fallen in love. I’m in love with Africa. I’m in love with the place as much as i’m in love with what it has to offer. I’m in love with what i get to do and be here, fulfilling dreams I never thought would be possible while living a life so seemingly normal. It’s not Australia, Australia will always have my heart and to be honest ...

... spaces to roam and play. I learnt that darkness does not suggest to a young child that he should find his mother, rather he will wait till mother finds him. I learnt that it IS possible to wear my boys out. I learnt that there is no better way to start the day then with praise and worship especially when it's a mixture of Praise The Lord and Zulu hymns and especially when lead by Bro Mdu who can manage to get anyone up on their feet and dancing at ...
