Just Come See For Yourself
San Antonio will definitely be a high note of our trip. There is something to be said for totally not being over-hyped in what to expect. Though we had heard the River Walk was "neat", we were not prepared for it's beauty.
Our hotel is on the river walk, so we just step outside to let the adventure begin, and it has an adventure.

San Antonio
That was a very long and tiring drive from El Paso to San Antonio. Started at 2:30 in the afternoon and reached after midnight. Most of the driving was in the dark and I felt like I am out of touch with driving at night. At one point, I saw two huge flying trucks !! While I was still blinking my eyes and thinking maybe we have finally arrived at the promised ...

Day Fifteen - Texas Cowboy Country
... Patrol truck crawling down their road (slower than walking speed) and a couple of times I saw them perched on a knoll. At one point, I was pulled into an immigration check point. Border Patrol were there with German Shepherds asking about citizenship - I passed. Photographer Tip - When taking a picture that includes a highway, wait for a truck to enter the frame. This provides a good scale or perspective for your shot. Yes, trucks are good for more than ...

Loved the Westin
We stayed 2 nights here and it was fabulous!!!! I can not say enough good things about the room, the service and the Heavenly Bed and linens. Special thanks to Sean the Concierge. He helped my husband make my birthday even more special buy renting a limo and getting me roses.
It was a weekend to remember!
Wonderfull!
We stayed here last week in a Jr. Suite. Our room and bathroom were beautiful. We were in a corner room, very quite. Our balcony overlooked the river, and we happened to be there for The Spurs Victory Parade on the river - quite exciting. Everyone was pleasant and helpful - we will definitely return!
Very nice Westin
Very nice hotel! My finacee and I stayed here for Memorial Day. HEAVENLY BED & BATH is truly heavenly. I would have bought the bed from them if they allowed. We had a deluxe room which was very spacious and comfortable. I loved the hotels sitting alcove areas. Great place to get some home design ideas. Staff was exceptionally courteous, helpful, and prompt. I requested a riverview and top floor, got both of them. The doormen are always on point about opening the door for you.The negative side is that it was hard to get the temp. just right in the room -- too cold. Expected the lobby area to be larger than what it was. The pool is very petite. Putting aside the negatives this place was still great. Very glad we stayed here, and would do it again.Where's there SPA!!!! This keeps them from being a 5-star hotel. Hebrews10:24
Great choice! Very comfy!
We loved the place! Quiet and very comfortable. Great workout room for a hotel at no extra charge. Taxes were almost 19 percent at checkout. We got a good military rate here, otherwise could be pricey with the taxes. Highly recommend this place.
A Wonderful Place to Stay!
My boyfriend and I just went to San Antonio for Fiesta and I'm so glad we chose to stay at the Westin Riverwalk. I knew it would be nice, but wasn't expecting it to be beyond expectations. This hotel is absolutely beautiful and the rooms are fabulous and very spacious. Our room had a balcony overlooking the Riverwalk which was also very nice. The Heavenly Bed is awesome! The most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The staff was very friendly and helpful too. Room service was great. Another highlight of this hotel is it's right on the beautiful Riverwalk and was less than a block away from NIOSA (Night in Old San Antonio) which we had a great time going to for a couple of nights. This will definitely be the place we stay at when we make future trips to San Antonio!
San Antonio Riverwalk is a must-see
My husband and myself spent 4 wonderful days in San Antonio staying at the Westin Riverwalk Hotel. The weather was nothing less than perfect (especially coming from the horrible climate of Iowa). The hotel employees went out of their way to be pleasant and helpful. We spent countless hours just walking through downtown San Antonio trying not to miss a thing. The Alamo, Riverwalk and the Mexican Market are not to be missed. San Antonio can be a little on the pricey side especially with children, but great memories can be made here.
Great weekend escape!
Very nice front desk staff and bellmen, very eager to help and felt very welcomed. I booked online through their website and asked for early check-in and late check-out and had no problems at all. I got an excellent rate for a junior suite! My husband and I were amazed at the size of the room and the quality. Everything was wonderful, from a stocked mini bar, Starbucks Coffee, Bigelow Tea, lovely furniture, comfy bed that you never want to get out of to a beautiful bathroom. The shower is beautiful, the marble tub was great to soak in. I wish the tub would have been a little larger and it would have been perfect if it had been a whirlpool tub! They had a great make-up mirror, I really appreciated that! The hair dryer was great, not a flimsy one that hangs on the wall and barely blows. They even have a lit closet with more than enough space to hang an entire suitcase! We didn't pay extra for a River walk view because we knew the hotel wasn't located over the "hot spots", but we had a city view and really liked it. We were on the 8th floor, not too far from elevator. The walls are paper thin though, my only complaint! We heard the people next door talking on several occasions and could almost make out what they were saying. This hotel is very convenient to everything, if you don't mind a bit of a walk. After eating so much, we needed the walk! We did have one breakfast meal at the hotel, but found that it was a little expensive. The wait staff was very nice though and we loved sitting outside. We loved the hotel and would stay there again in a heartbeat! I highly recommend this hotel.
Good location, problems in other areas
The Westin has a very nice lobby. The guest rooms are comfortable with down comforters and nice extras like a bath robe, lighted makeup mirror, etc. The bathrooms are nice with marble tile. Unfortunately, the insulation is poor between rooms. We could hear the phone ringing in the room next door. They had a wake up call every morning at 6:30 a.m.! The other downfall was the pool is outdoors, is rather small, and is not heated. We went in March and it was too cold to swim. The excercise room is right off the pool and is well equipped. The restaurant is just okay. I had banana and blueberry crepes. The crepes were filled with granola and had the blueberries and banannas on top. This was rather unusual to me. There is no gift shop. A small amount of toiletries are available in the restaurant. There are no pop machines and a can of pop is $3.00 in the honor bar. I would most recommend this hotel because of its lacation. It is great to be on the Riverwalk. We had a nice view from our room.
Awesome hotel!
The hotel was great! As soon as we walked in all we coud say was "WOW!" The inside is beautifuly decorated and the elevators were fast! Our room was great! We had huge marble batherooms and all the little things (lighted makeup mirrors, starbucks in the room, comfortable beds) really added up to make for a pleasant stay. The service was nice and so were the resteraunts. Oh and if possible reserve a room with a veiw to the riverwalk! It's amazing! The only bad things were the hotel rooms have bad insulation or something because we could hear the next door neighbors talking. You have to pay for valet parking and other wise you have to walk a bit.The other downside for up was that the pool was outdoors and not heated and it was to cold to swim! But other than that it was great!
Clean, friendly place to stay
Stayed 4 nights in very comfortable rooms. An upscale hotel with friendly helpful staff. Walls between rooms do not muffle sounds - could hear people next door coughing. Beaufiful patio outside the hotel dining area next to Riverwalk, also outdoor patio/decks from 4th floor and main lobby overlook the Riverwalk.
Food in cafe/dining room not exceptionally good. Had a hard time finding any good food on the Riverwalk.
