Finally arrived in Orlando. It is hot.
Pick up the car and without any tears headed off into the traffic. We have nerves of steal.
First all went well, until we hit downtown Orlando and got "slightly" lost. Hannah was convinced we were going to be shot, I was ofcourse calm as a cucumber (most of the time). Only 30 minutes late we …

So I return to my original observation, as much as I enjoyed the refreshing change of actually feeling like a valued customer, rather than an inconvenience, the overwhelming thing that I took away from this trip to the movies was just how appallingly bad the whole experience of going to the pictures is back in ...
... We had left it until lunchtime to go, which is a really bad idea. This is by far the busiest park and if you don’t get there early, you face queue times of well over an hour, and over two hours in some cases! Olly and I are far too impatient to wait for this long in a queue for a ride, so we watch the parade and some shows, and headed back to our hotel, vowing to get there much earlier next time!
On Friday we went to Animal Kingdom, which was ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Grand Bohemian Hotel Orlando, Autograph Collection
This is an incredible hotel. I stayed here with 3 friends for 6 nights from 07/21/03 - 07/27/03.We were greeted by the always friendly doorman and parking attendants. Entering the lobby you knew you were staying somewhere special. There were vanilla candles filling the lobby with an inviting aroma.Check-in was smooth and professional. We had requested 2 Queens non-smoking and that is what we got on the Starwood Preferred Guest floor(12th). The Grand Bohemian labels itself as "An Experience in Art and Music" and that is exactly what we got. Beside the gallery on the first floor, there is art on each floors elevators landing area - If you have time you should check out the art by having the elevator stop at each floor so that you can see the uniqueness of each floor.Upon entering the room; the experience continues. The walls are painted in deep rich colors as though you were in a Starbucks Coffee Shop. As a matter of fact, My friend and his wife loved the feel of the room so much that they have, in the past 2 weeks, turned their bedroom at home into a replica of the Westin Grand Bohemian room. There was lite jazz playing on the upgraded radio/cd player. The room came with the standard Westin Heavenly beds with down comforters and 5 pillows per bed. If you have never experienced a night in a Heavenly bed, then you are in for a treat. The rooms are oversized thus leaving room for a purple velveteen lounge chair. The velvet floor-to-ceiling curtains overlapped wonderfully allowing us to keep the room completely dark in the mornings. The light switches in the room were easy to locate as they had orange l.e.d. lights glowing in them - The closet where the iron and ironing board were located - also had 2 robes AND a light in the closet!!The bathroom was astonishing - granite floor and countertop with a cool designed bathroom mirror. There was a coffee maker with Starbucks coffee provided. The Molson Brown hair products had an scrumptious smell.Housekeeping was also GREAT - returning our room to look like "new" each day. The housekeeper supervisor came by in the afternoons to ask if the rooms were done to our satisfaction. Now that was a nice touch. One day; one of my friends had gone out running and upon his return; one of the front desk clerk rushed to the elevator to give him a ice cold bottle of water. The pool area is decedent. There are 2 loins located about 6 feet from the pool that shoot water from their mouths back into the pool. The pool may be swallow - only 3.5 feet deep as it is located on the 6th floor over the parking garage, but it is unique in that it has a shelf on both sides of the pool running lengthwise about 2 feet down allowing you and your friends to sit and enjoy each others company. There is also a huge covered area with 5 chandeliers hanging from the underside giving it an elegant feel. There was also a small but adequete gym - also next to the pool. It had a TV to help time pass on the trendmill and a large bottle of chilled water to hydrate yourself. Towels were also provided. The nice touch here was the bowl of apples to munch on after your work-out.The hotel had two fancy restaurants. We did not eat at either. I don't think we had the clothes with us to pass the dress code to get in. But we did use the full-service Starbucks located in the lobby on a daily basis to pick up a quick inexpensive breakfast. In the late evenings, we would go to Gino's pizza located just 2 blocks up Orange on the left. They had wonderful NY style pizza by-the-slice that we all enjoyed.I would describe our stay as nothing less than Fantastic. I hope that some day you would to get to experience this exquisite hotel experience.
Wow, who knew Orlando had such a hotel?
We recently attended a wedding at the Grand Bohemian and ended up staying for the night. The hotel is so beautiful, the rooms are so romantic, and the service was excellent. I thought hotels like these only existed in Miami or out towards Disney.
Wonderful hotel! Great place if you want to be away from all of the Disney stuff. During the week go to Globe for happy hour - $2 sushi and it is awesome! Only bad thing - they charge you $18/day to park your car in their garage. Room was gorgeous - pool is really nice, but gets shady around 2-3 PM. Would definitely go back!
This hotel is competitive with many excellant hotels in the world. Great service, bar, and sexy room.
Great place !!
Stayed 2 nights on business. Had a great room at a great price ($135/night). Lots of great places to eat and drink within two blocks of the hotel. Wished I would have had my wife with me. The staff was very friendly.
The Grand, Grand Bohemian
The Westin Grand Bohemian is one of the best hotels in Orlando. I've stayed at many of the Disney hotels, and have to say that this tops them all in terms or service, style, rooms and restaurants! The room was one of the nicest that I have stayed in. It was one of the luxury suites, and it was certainly that! The colors, fabrics, furniture, all top of the line. Clean, spacious, and with lots of nice little touches. The restaurant was very good as well. Also had the Sunday Jazz Brunch, and what a brunch it was! So many choices, all very well prepared. Lounge was elegant and classy, pool area was well maintained and relaxing. One of the best stays in Orlando!
This is one of the nicest and cleanest hotels that I have ever stayed at, and I travel quite a bit. The hotel itself is immaculate, the staff were helpful and nice, the room/bathroom was spacious and could not have been cleaner. The bed was great!! I'm very, very picky about clean hotels, and this is the cleanest I have ever stayed. My husband thought it was outstanding as well. I would highly recommend this hotel, it is worth the price.
A few miles east (downtown) of the overpriced, tourist-filled hotels is this little gem. For about the same price you would pay to stay at a hotel closer to the parks, you can enjoy this beautiful hotel. Service is excellent, staff is professional and eager to please. Rooms are spotlessly clean, large and the beds are the most comfortable I have EVER slept on. The concierge floor ($179 a night Feb '03) has a separate key access suite with a TV lounge, newspapers, bar, board games, card tables, coffee, tea, hors-d'ourves and a truly excellent, fresh continental breakfast. The hotel is filled with beautiful art and the gorgeous main bar/restaurant is really hopping at night with an upscale crowd. Very elegant and classy without being stuffy. Only negatives I found are that although I would not say the hotel isn't "kid friendly", there didn't appear to be many children around, nor were there any activities for kids such as an arcade, movies, babysitting, etc. Other negative is that downtown Orlando is rather vacant at night so there is a lack of other restaurants clubs/bars within walking distace in the area. Just a nice change from the usual tourist madness in O-town.
Everything about this hotel is fantastic. The rooms, the service, the food. I dislike Florida, but the Grand Bohemian makes me want to visit again. This is one of the finest hotels I have ever stayed in. The decor of hotel is funky, yet luxurious. The rooms are large and comfortable. The bar is fantastic. You cannot go wrong staying here. The rates for the hotel are way lower than you would expect for such a luxurious hotel.
My husband and I got away for the weekend to celebrate our anniversery. Everything at the Westin Grand Bohemian was wonderful. The location was great for those not spending every waking moment at Disney. The "Heavenly Bed" was just that. The staff was courteous, and accomidating. We only had trouble with one valet and his co-workers took care of his rudeness. Our car's key guard was gouged, but that's what they're there for. We got a value rate so we had NO view (you get what you pay for). Next time I think we'll go for a suite on the concierge level. The massage therapist was amazing as was the food (we had room service only). We will definatly go again!
