    ... Blues show on radio 2 and had listened to a lot of his music going to and for to work. We sat on our multipurpose Pac-a-Macs, as the ground was still quite wet from the storms, and all the available seating had been taken. Really enjoyable show, especially so as I know a lot of his songs. Would have moved on to other stages, but the heat was so intense and there was no shelter that we decided we would not survive another hour in the open. ...

    ... on the plane during the layover. We flew an hour and 20 minutes from Detroit to Chicago. We safely reached Midway airport at 3:56 PM, said our goodbyes, and parted ways to go home.

    ... is a long pier that has lots of shops, a Ferris wheel and arcade style activities like a boardwalk. BUT the majority of it is under heavy renovation and cut off and another section is cut off for a private event....... So we are stuck to just the front section of novelty souvenir shops and a McDonalds BUT most importantly the Bubba Gump restaurant which we are going to have tea at. It is proving quite difficult to waste time though to get through to tea time. ...

    ... way to Navy Pier to catch an Architecture Cruise, taking us into both branches of the Chicago river. Now if you've researched attractions in Chicago, you'll notice a variety of water related tours - on this trip, we ended up going with the Architecture Cruise to learn more about the buildings and designs; the lake cruise at night with fireworks, and the Tally Ship Windy, but more on the rest later.

    ... amazingly cleared customs and made their very short connection at JFK. They were on their way home. After dinner, we patiently waited for our flight. Again, we had 6 kids without assigned seats, but Frau handled the pretty quick.
