    ... hill but we went on to the village, this pretty little village has many attractions. There is a yarn market, the castle, a dovecote and a tithe barn which is now the village community centre.     We had lunch at the fifteenth century Blackmore Manor Hose, at Bridgwater, Somerset. After Ian's introduction, we had an extensive tour of the property before sitting down to very hearty lunch.     ... visa applicants have to go to the Moscow embassy to apply, even if they live 5000 miles away in Vladivostok. So now, I have to go to London to present myself in person. Fair enough. And then the Chinese visa. A little less onerous but still involves lots of financial outlay. So now it's just waiting until my new passport arrives and then trusting a Russian travel agency with hundreds of pounds for the vague promise of train ...

    Our journey to Phuket was by the far the worst journey I have experienced. The journey started of quite pleasant actually; it wasn't raining, we all had a seat each (and even a couple around us that were empty) and the boat was bigger than we had been on before. ..but this did not last long!
