... which kept the place pristine.
We now had a bit of a walk - in search of caches and some river views - but baulked at the steps down to the Niagara River Glen - 200+ feet in a steel stairway which felt like a fire escape. That didn't ruin a nice walk and some views along the way north were spectacular. We were able to stand above the whirlpool rapids and look down on jet boats and also the Spanish Gondola which took people directly over the swirling water.
... though the crowds off Asian tourists with cameras that cud take pictures of the usa flag on the moon. Then my friends tell about the area and offer to take picture of me with falls. And about the overrates attractions in the area that are rubbish. Stopping for the final photo stop a couple were booking the corner of the platform for an amazing pan aromatic photo of the U.S. and Canadian falls. ( I think they thought if they were there long enough they could charge rent ...
... down there, but not too misty just yet. It didn't hold off long though. The closer we got to the Horseshoe falls, the windier and wetter it got. We were absolutely drenched, but it was well worth it, as the boat went right up within metres of where the river dropped over the edge. I don't think theres a way of getting a better view.

Then, the Ferris wheel, Louis Tussaud's and Ripley's Believe it or Not, complete with underworked teenager sat looking slightly bored; while the essence of her soul was gently drained from her, I liked to imagine. The street turned noisy, "come and see Frankenstein!" boomed the PA, "I wanna see Frankenstein!" joined in the youngster. It is an odd side effect of having so many amusements ...

While waiting in the airport terminal, we were all shocked at the new reports on the TV about the blizzard Hercules and how people had already died and then they declared a state of emergency!!! My god, we really thought what we were experiencing was pretty normal in winter in NYC and that's when I realised what we did earlier trying to get to the pick up point was maybe a bit crazy - but we were ok and everyone waiting for the plane ...
