Located in Sliema with easy access to Valletta and the rest of the island. Great harbour-side esplanade to walk along that goes for miles. Large, bright rooms with coffee making facilities. Very friendly, helpful staff.

          Better see Valletta!

I caught the bus (public transport) into Valletta this morning (Malta's capital). Thought I'd better pay the city a visit! I headed straight for St John's Co-Cathedral because I was told it was worth seeing. The church still belongs to the Knights of Malta (Knights of St John - Hospitallers). The very plain fašade did not prepare me for the over- …

I used the hop on / hop off bus today, taking the South (Red) Tour. My feeling yesterday that this method of transport for touring Malta and seeing the sights would be the best way to go was realised. I would only do Malta this way in future, particularly knowing which sights I wanted to see. The commentary provided by the audio guide was very good …

          Island of Gozo

Nowhere near as windy today but the swell in the harbour reminded me to take my sea sick pill. As it turned out, the ferry crossing from Malta to Gozo was very smooth. The ferry terminal is at the far western end of Malta and the crossing took 25 minutes.

The tour I took of Gozo was not as fast paced as yesterday's tour; with more free …

I was picked up at 8.00am this morning from the hotel for the Highlights of Malta tour. Given the number of people on the tour (48), it was extremely well organised but very rushed.

It was very, very windy again and the harbour and sea were extremely choppy, God! I hope it calms down tomorrow because I have to get on a ferry for Gozo …

I can't believe I agreed to an 8.00am flight out of Sicily to Malta. However, the connection in Rome meant that I didn't have long to wait.

The hotel is on the waterfront (hence the name) with a great esplanade to walk along that stretches for miles. I have a room with a harbour view - very nice. The hotel won me over with its in-room …
