Located in Sliema with easy access to Valletta and the rest of the island. Great harbour-side esplanade to walk along that goes for miles. Large, bright rooms with coffee making facilities. Very friendly, helpful staff.

Day trip to Gozo, the smaller island of Malta

A travel blog entry by nicolapollard on Aug 25, 2014

... at the ferry terminal and we were on our way. We were cruising around in an old school mini van with about 10 others. Our first stop was Ta Pinu church which was really impressive and completely in the middle of no where. Already in Gozo we have noticed there are very grand churches but everything else is only one level or the church is in the middle of the desert like land so it makes the church look even more impressive. Our next stop was on the rocky coast where there is ...

          -----THE FOREIGNERS -
-----Foreigners flocked to Malta. The island's population swelled, with North European tourists, elderly Brits seeking a cheap and sunny retirement, African immigrants trying to reach Europe. Young people came from Serbia, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Czechoslovakia, Serbia, Italy, and the Spanish crisis, to work here and make this their home. Most of these young people were free and independent, beautiful ...

St. Paul, San Pawl, Paolo, Pablo is absolutely everywhere!

Furthermore, the nobility of Maltese history, imbued by the order of the Knights and dearly purchased through centuries of defiant battle really resonates here.

... Was just what we had hoped for and Christmas Day itself was lovely, with everyone being thoroughly spoiled. The time in Basingstoke quickly flew by but we had visited and done everything we had wanted too so it felt nice to be able to then return back to Malta. We were dropped us off at Gatwick on Thursday lunchtime and we had a civilised 2pm flight! Makes a change! We arrived back in Malta safe and sound and settled back into our flat. Looking forward to the next few ...

Day 299 3 hrs, 6 kms Today I fly back to Italy. But I'm determined to squeeze every last drop I can out of this trip that I can. Looking at the map before buying my ticket I thought 5 days would be more than enough to fully experience this tiny island. But no, every town I've explored and Parkbenched has left me thirsting for more. Now I wish I could stay ...
