Tangerine is the swanky restaurant at The Water Club that features a wall made of rippled tin with water streaming over it, onto which is projected scenes of lovely young ladies swimming through crystal clear waters. At first glance it looks like an aquarium where bikini-clad "mermaids" play all day. It's a pleasant scene to view while dining. Before we find our seats for breakfast, we're greeted by William, who has to be the friendliest bellman in San Juan. He excitedly waves us over to the ...
San Juan, Puerto Rico globetrottersHey! So, I'm travelling with my old friend Eduardo Alves (www.mapa-mundi.com) from New York, and we've just arrived today in San Juan from Rio de Janeiro to start the trip! He's invited me to come along with him, he's got the toughest job - travelling around the world to be best places, and writing about it - so finally he needed someone to help carry his bags, and it's me!! First, we're staying in the Water Beach Club Hotel, San Juan's hip/chic/boutique hotel -- a nice little Delano knockoff...

... wonderful spices, Dominica, for its mysterious wild forests and St. Thomas, for its exotic tropical beaches. The Southern Caribbean islands are places that I will cherish forever. They are "Moments in Time" that will always remain in my memory for always.
Today, is the start of our second week on board the Caribbean Princess. The ship made its way to San Juan in the early morning arriving at 6:00am. This morning, I did ...
... themselves bean burritos. Yumm! It was very relaxing. We walked around a little after we ate, and went into a shop or two. I had wanted to find a bathing suit cover-up. DD and I had success in that endeavor. By then it was time to head back to the fort for a festival they were having (free with your entrance ticket). We got there a little early and got front row seats. They had a band/singers and dancers. They started with the ...
San Juan, Puerto Rico kitkatgo... as usual about how domesticated I seemed to be. HAHA! We pretty much hung out at the house until the cousins came and we went to the rehearsal on the beach. That was interesting, it consisted of running and jumping into the ocean and a 10 minute "Heres how were gonna do it" speech from the groom. Just enough to keep my attention. We came home to a hamburger lunch, liquor and good company. 8pm rolled around and we were off to a pm kayak trip. yep, at night in ...
San Juan, Puerto Rico zggyzaggy... highway, and told Victor that we would pay for his speeding ticket, just get us to the boat fast. To that, he replied that he would go to jail if he got one more speeding ticket. Sweet. We made good time anyway, but as we neared San Juan, traffic started to back up. Of course there had been an accident. Why shouldn't there be one in this sequence of events? We had been belly laughing the entire way home, and this made us double over in ...
San Juan, Puerto Rico snhal24... Fontaleza. Even with traffic we moved between the airport and Old San Juan within 15 minutes. After a busy and lazy week we slept well on a 1/2 full flight to JFK with plenty of empty seats to put up the legs and just kick back. - This travelogue is dedicated to my father in gratitude for his RCI time share certificate - thanks Dad! ------
San Juan, Puerto Rico mkouletio... I'm majoring in geography, maybe I should just say that when people ask me instead of Community and Environmental Studies, because no one knows what that means. After Global Studies I headed up to the 7th deck and slept on a chair in the sun for two hours (with sunscreen on, of course!) because I was exhausted. Then I ate lunch with the gang and now here I am updating you fine people on my life! Now I'm going to load my pictures onto my computer, all 200+ of them and then post this! Adios!
San Juan, Puerto Rico destinationomadI've been pretty sick since the St. Thomas trip. Massive ear infection. Between seeing doctors, getting prescriptions, and eating soup, I do nothing but sleep. I'm flying out of San Juan, so we decided to see the Castillo de San Felipe del Morro before I go. It was an interesting tour and had great views of the ...
San Juan del Sur, Puerto Rico tvmed... probably glad he understood where we were going and didn't want us to confuse him.
I had always heard of the beautiful oceans, but the blues and greens were very similar to what i left back home even though the sand here was much whiter.
Boarded the cruise ship and left the beautiful port, passing Fort San Cristobal on our way out - a Fort that I promised I'd visit on my return a few days later.
