... We had arrived in San Juan in the wee hours of the morning. Mike had disembarked as soon as they opened the ramp at 7:30 a.m. to hustle to SJU to catch his 9:45 US Airways flight home to Philadelphia, but I took advantage of the chance to sleep in later and get off the cruiseship at 10:04, 26 minutes ahead of the 10:30 deadline.

I claimed my two suitcases and then had to wait 22 minutes in line to clear U.S. Customs & Border Protection as hundreds of cruise passengers ...

... we wandered a little more, this time down by the cruise terminal. I've never been on a cruise (and don't have that much interest) but big ships are fascinating to me. They even had the NFL playoff game going on a huge outdoor TV some 15 stories above us on the promenade deck. Then we hopped back on the trolley for another loop through the central part of town before heading back to the bus depot where our route 53 bus was waiting ...
