This suited us fine for an overnight stop well on the way to Rocky Mountain NP. It was out of season so quiet. You have to go into town for breakfast - we went a little farther on to Sharkeys which was outstanding

Very friendly staff and it was clean enough - but the building and the rooms are truly vintage. If you're into old stuff and don't mind dated interiors you'll do just fine here. I was shocked to discover they had wifi in the building. We had a studio with a pull-down bed, our chief complaint was actually the pillows that were totally flat so we both woke up with neck aches. All in all it is close to the lifts and reasonably priced off-season.

... later this week. I have both dogs, and Zuni does not like this place, as there is no doggy door, plus she is not allowed on stairs, so is confined, pretty much, to the middle/main level, but at least that's where the food bowl is. Zuni has gotten even more food-obsessed over the years (she is almost 14), esp. when it comes to watermelon or almost any other fruit!

A disappointment has been that the lightweight touring kayak I ordered from LL Bean ...

The next morning, we headed to Boulder, CO. Along interstate 70 we were able to take in views of the snow capped mountains and drive parallel to the Colorado River. On our journey, we stopped in Vail and Georgetown. The villages ...

Planning our first trip abroad had many unanswered questions and so we probably overplanned, but here are the major items that had to be resolved:
        1) Since John and Maria were traveling with us, we had to agree on a trip plan and decide how many days to include. We ended up with a trip of 26 days, covering over 2100 miles.
        2) Get passports
        3) Reserve a flight
        4) Joined AAA and purchased medical ...

The University of Colorado, Boulder is right in the center of the town. It is a fairly large university with mostly brick buildings. It is a very beautiful campus. We started the day a little late. We didn't head out until around 9:00. Not much to see in Kansas. Lots of rolling hills, cows, corn, cows, corn..... for hours. The carousel in Burlington was very pretty. All of the animals were hand carved and painted by a German artist. The organ is not the original with the carousel but is similar to the one originally used. It cost a quarter for a ride and the outside animals travel at 12-15 mph which is a bit quick but the ride is ...
