This suited us fine for an overnight stop well on the way to Rocky Mountain NP. It was out of season so quiet. You have to go into town for breakfast - we went a little farther on to Sharkeys which was outstanding

Very friendly staff and it was clean enough - but the building and the rooms are truly vintage. If you're into old stuff and don't mind dated interiors you'll do just fine here. I was shocked to discover they had wifi in the building. We had a studio with a pull-down bed, our chief complaint was actually the pillows that were totally flat so we both woke up with neck aches. All in all it is close to the lifts and reasonably priced off-season.

It's me writing the 'blog' at the moment - I've been let loose to put a few words down - so here goes.... We all arrived safely and picked up the car - hardly a car a big Jeep Cherokee 4 wheel drive - it was advised because we could get bad weather! stopped on the way to our stay for a fuel (food) stop - crepes with lemon filling and topped off …

... America's most stunning and impressive climbs was put together in a history and guidebook by Steve Roper and Allen Steck (in the late 70s). This book has continued to open the adventure climber's imagination to these dramatic climbs (and pushed others to try some pretty cool feats - the Smiley's challenge for example).

The DC3 project that just completed (I got to launch a weather balloon from UAH for this project :) uses a Gulfstream V, a Falcon 20 and NASA's DC- 8. There is so much equipment on these planes, there is hardly room for any people to monitor the equipment. Cool stuff. I bought supper at the Farmer's Market and watched kids tube down Boulder Creek while I ...

As is our wont, it's time for a walk.

I've been avoiding the fast food and candy that dominated my diet in the early Madness Era of the first month, and in an effort to tip the balance back the other we've been trying to find country/mountain trails we can hike about on [ particularly on days when we're sleeping in the car, because you don't wanna find yourself in the car park at 4pm with 7 or so hours to kill ]
