This suited us fine for an overnight stop well on the way to Rocky Mountain NP. It was out of season so quiet. You have to go into town for breakfast - we went a little farther on to Sharkeys which was outstanding

      True to its name

Very friendly staff and it was clean enough - but the building and the rooms are truly vintage. If you're into old stuff and don't mind dated interiors you'll do just fine here. I was shocked to discover they had wifi in the building. We had a studio with a pull-down bed, our chief complaint was actually the pillows that were totally flat so we both woke up with neck aches. All in all it is close to the lifts and reasonably priced off-season.

... I'm not doing that again. I finish off the plate and order another beer. That last one helped extinguish the fire. I order more food as these are only small plates and I was hungry. As I start to feel the effects of the beer I decide to leave. I still need to get my car back to Dexter's apartment, and I could too easily settle in here. Dexter mentioned that the place gets busy later so I promise to return. I get my car and make my way to the ...

So I have just spent an interesting 5 days in Colorado with 2 hosts, one in the lovely town of Boulder and the second in the heart of Denver. I really enjoyed the area and it has a great mix of interesting things to do both inside and outside the city.

I arrived into Denver airport still really tired from Vegas and made my way to Boulder. There I met my host who took me to his lovely home in his excessively large pick up truck where I ...

Today Linda, Sabina, Manuel, Chuckie and I drove to check out Boulder, Co. It is about 20 miles from Golden, Co, where we are staying. The drive to Boulder, hwy 93, is lovely. It is mostly open land with small ranches here and there. There are some home developments but not many at this time. Entering Boulder, you can see the Flatirons, mountain sides ...

It's been a great week. Tuesday, we drove north to Lyons and found the Oscar Blue's Brew Pub. It's a bit of a dive (the clientele were a bit rough around the edges) but the food was great and we were able to sit out on the porch and enjoy the evening. One of the brewery employee's had his son with him and all the staff played with him in the lot between the pub and the brewery. He was adorable. His name was Hendrix. :)

... are usually a highlight of our holidays. It was tow years ago in a hot tub in Yosemite Ioan began to plan this Colorado trip!

Tegz, Ci and I had gone inside at about 10pm to dry off, when we spotted a car coming up our long drive; it was a visit from our friendly local sheriff investigating the bear visit. He even posed for a p**************ell!

Time for bed, but I still have problems sleeping here; every slamming door and creak is evidence of a repeat bear ...
