Barbara's father was a chauffer employed at the Manor for years starting probably in the early 1900s. I am going to try to do some research to see who was in residence at that time and see if I can find a list of staff.

The township of Edwinstow, just a few k’s south of the Forest, is a lovely township too. In the Forest, we did get to see some of the majestic oak trees that are reputed to live over 1000 years, and one, the Major Oak, reputed to be one that was the meeting place for Robin & co.

Sue & Ken took us to Dunham Massey an NT house which has been set up with its layout as a WW1 Auxiliary Hospital.
