... early tonight while we decide if we're going to venture out into the night again. Tomorrow the camera is coming out for some tree shots. It's quite beautiful with snow and ice covering every little branch on most of the vegetation. It was a great day since we really don't have any agenda but we're not crazy about these clouds and as I tend to stress over these things, I'm wondering if it's too early to think about depression......

... Gosh, gold mining in Alaska's permafrost was a damn hard business! First they had to take core samples to find the gold, then dig a huge drainage ditch to divert a stream so they have enough water and water pressure, then try to blast away the top soil layer down to the permafrost.
