Rodney Bay, P.O.Box 1892 Santa Lucia Castries, Saint Lucia
Hangin out at George F.L. Charles airport on our way from St. Lucia to St. Vincent. It's HUGE. One whopping gate, and we think the pilot might also be the flight attendant and work at the airport coffee shop. Just found out that we have at least a one hour delay. Go LIAT air..woohoo.

Bequia is just a short flight and quick ferry away. We can smell it now...

Update... we did not make it to Bequia today. Our 11am Liat flight was ...
Saint Lucia, Saint Lucia 4thegoodtimes... floor overlooking the pool and ocean. Rodney Bay area was a bit too tourista for us. It was reminiscent of spring break. To be fair, we did not have an opportunity to explore outside the immediate area. We had our first chicken Roti at Lime- average. Spent the morning on Reduit Beach in St. Lucia. Very nice and relaxing.

Saint Lucia, Saint Lucia 4thegoodtimes... us wide awake. Word to the wise, all bags (from the Atl) must be checked within 1 hour before international flights. We squeaked by with exactly one minute to spare (maybe less).

Enjoying the free Delta Wi-Fi right now as we cruise through the Bermuda Triangle. If we make it through the Devil's Triangle, FABIAN, our kamakaze driver ...
Saint Lucia, Saint Lucia 4thegoodtimes... caught fresh fish, and with Caribbean music playing. It was really cool to see the locals dancing – boy can they bust some moves! Even the children were dancing like Britney and Justin Timberlake!
It was just a short visit to the party, as we were all pretty tired from the days traveling. Having headed back to my room I wondered how I would sleep due the jungle noises outside my room! Anyway, in ...
Rodney Bay, Minas Gerais, Saint Lucia kat-hayter... so the thought of spotting a bottlenose dolphin or a monkey is filling me with the excitement of a kid at Christmas! Perhaps zip wiring and snorkelling will help get me up close and personal with some of the wildlife St Lucia has to offer. I am also looking forward to trying some local food. I love cooking and eating, but the extent of my knowledge of Caribbean food is Levi Roots’ Reggae Reggae ...
Rodney Bay, Minas Gerais, Saint Lucia kat-hayter... I wished I could live here, on this beautiful exotic island, having this wonderful view in front of me, with tropical foliage and blue crystal waters! SSSight... No harm dreaming! :)

We then proceeded to Sulphur Springs, the world's only drive-in volcano, got off the mini bus and followed the path leading right next to the volcano's crater. Here, bubbling pools were letting off puffs of odorous steam. I had to cover my ...
Saint Lucia, Saint Lucia momentsintime... there wasn't much else to see here. After the beach, I just walked along the main street. The homes here were very rustic and it seemed that most people made a living from tourism and from the sea with not much else. Back in the van, we continued driving into the hills and into the rain forest. Prior to driving into the rain forest, it had only been sporadically showering, now it began to really come down. I guess it really does rain in the rain forest. Every so often, we would ...
Castries, Saint Lucia royv1... As everyone was enjoying some champagne and wondering what was taking so long we found out that the bride's dress had not made it to the resort yet even though it was picked up early that morning. Now here's some math for you. Charter boat arrives late, wedding dress arrives late, and cruise ship changed the departure time to 30 minutes earlier, you can see where this is going. So we realized that with an hour each way via boat we only had an hour for the entire wedding ...
Castries, Saint Lucia usmcsniperWe had a good flight back to St. Lucia via Barbados and was rather looking forward to spending a few nights at a hotel with hot water showers and a proper bed. Don't get me wrong, it's great to cruise around Caribbean islands on a yacht, but personal hygiene kind of goes out the window since you need to save fresh water and can't shower. You don't have much space either of course, so your clothes and luggage in general is a big mess after a few days onboard. My hotelroom was big and ...
Castries, Saint Lucia psykokristin... back home; that is it is based on the mini-bus. Because the roads are so narrow, there is no possibility of operating normal busses or coaches. The mini-busses offer cheap but sometimes definitely hairy transport. The drivers, like those in SA, can scare one into incontinence, with a form of driving that seems to achieve no more than giving their passengers a hard time and ensuring that their vehicles are stressed to the limit. Fuel here is expensive but the fact that they must burn ...
