I hope the attached pics can give you just a glimpse of the spiritual feeling you get seeing the sun rise and set, at this little part of our universe. The Meyer pass reference is to a short cut through a national forest which warns you that it is an unplowed route. Needless to say there were section snow covered and rutted at times 24" of hard ice …

To the valley of monuments...

Once our Antelope Canyon tour finished and they dropped us off at the car we set off towards our next stop of the trip - Monument Valley.

We could see by the GPS that there were not going to be many towns on the way so we decided to stop at what looked like the largest for lunch. Our choices there …

Day 39 - Monument Valley

Woke up this morning to a fantastic view out side our window. "The View" hotel is the only hotel inside the National Park, and every room faces the valley... really, really, really close to some of the "monuments". It is owned and run entirely by the Navajo, and it blends in with the environment perfectly. When looking back at it from the valley …

Day 10 - To Monument Valley

A travel blog entry by rachlovely on Oct 15, 2013

Up at dawn for some sunrise and then a hike into the wilds. On the amangiri property is a cave recently examined by archaeologists, and in it is still the remnants of pottery, corn husks, would you believe 1000's of years old. The micro climate in the cave is so dry, that everything is preserved. A little more wildlife, baby tarantula's and a small …

This hotel is located right in the Monument Valley Tribal Park, and it's owned and operated by Navajo Tribe. The architecture of the hotel is great, it blends in the environment it's built in. It offers a modern comfort that you would expect from a great hotel in the middle of desert land. The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful. Also the restaurant offers great food. I had a great experience and would go back.

Great hotel. The name says it all. This is a bucket list place to visit. Staff were friendly, room was lovely. Had a very large "starlight room" worth the extra. Be aware that there is no wi-fi or phone signal in the rooms. Not sure why no wi-fi, they have it in the lobby.

This place in Monument Valley Tribal Park is GORGEOUS! And called The View for good reason - every vertical flat surface has a window in it, even the lift. Aside from the aesthetics, every detail for your comfort is considered; the shampoo & conditioner is good quality, there are magnets in the corners of the shower curtain so it stays put, great art on the walls. Comfortable beds & pillows. Room numbers in braille.
10% off authentic Navajo crafts for guests, good local food in the restaurant. Free internet.
Highly recommended....I loved it and didn't want to leave. Well done guys.
