Was this destination on the Itinerary - No - but of course I was smiling, who wouldn't when told you were about to experience 'A Natural Wonder of the World' which also happens to be on the bucket list of thousands of tourists from all parts of the globe. We were both soon to be another year wiser, definitely fatter and needing serious …

This morning we had our last breakfast at Lion Sands. Since it is such a small lodge you get to know the staff very well so it was sad to leave. It is truly a beautiful place to stay. We sad goodbye and met out driver Sam who was going to take us to the airport for our flight to Livingstone and Victoria Falls. Driving through the park we saw more …

After breakfast at the Victoria Falls Hotel we met our guide Becky and drove to the entrance to the Victoria Falls parks. As the water levels are very high right now we were given rain jackets. David Livingstone was the first European to see the falls. Inside the gate of the parks there is a map listing the viewing points for the falls such as; …

Day 33 - morning

Temperature: 35 Celsius
Weather: Hot, blue sky, cloudy periods

Through my room’s curtains, the piercing rays of the sun could be seen in between cracks. Without wasting any more minutes, I was up and running getting all dressed up and ready to go. I definitely didn’t want to miss my last day's …

I often visited Victoria Falls hotel several times and my stay was always wonderful
    .
Known as "the grand old lady of the Falls", The hotel is situated on a World Heritage site surrounded by lush gardens and rolling lawns and is just a ten minute walk from the Victoria Falls. This is the one hotel that can truly claim to be unique.

This is a wonderful hotel with a great restaurant and grounds and only a short walk from town and the falls. The rooms were a bit small but nicely appointed with a very comfortable bed. If you want colonial charm and comfort, the Victoria Falls Hotel is the place to go. We would definitely recommend it.

This grand old Hotel has seen better days. We stayed here because we wanted to see the views from the hotel, and these were spectacular. So too were the sounds of the Falls. And we found the statue of Dr Livingstone, not far from the Hotel.

    Romantic Getaway

    from

We have just returned from a five day stay at the Victoria Falls hotel celebrating our 25 year wedding anniversary.

    Best access to the falls

    from

The Victoria Falls Hotel is an old Victorian style hotel which has very well-appointed public spaces. Its rooms are also very comfortable and stylish. On the grounds are wart hogs, monkeys, and baboons. This hotel has the best access to the falls. Given the fact that the falls were completely dry on the Zambia side because this was the dry season, this was pretty important. A security guard is on the path leading the falls, which makes the environment safe. This is the only place to stay when visiting Victoria Falls.

    Vom Hotel begeistert

    from

    Tolle Gastfreundschaft

    from

    Great hospitality

    from

We have just returned from a week in Zimbabwe spending 3 nights at the Victoria Falls Hotel and 3 nights at Matetsi Game Lodge. The hotel is an impressive grand old building of a byegone colonial era full of antique furniture and memoribilia. The setting is unsurpassed at the Falls as it overlooks the gorge below them and one can see the spray of the Falls themselves. Our room overlooked the gorge and the beautiful gardens. It was pure luxury to have morning coffee brought to the room by a smiling waiter on a silver tray and to contemplate the view. The standard of the service is excellant with a large number of staff to cater to your every need.We got ot know a number of the staff who were incredibly friendly and hospitable. We did have misgivings about travelling to zimbabwe because of the virtual collapse of the economy, but are so glad that we were not deterred.Despite these problems the standard of food and beverages was excellant. The only reservation we had was that for those of us paying in South African rands the dinners and drinks were relatively pricey, but then you staying at the top hotel in the area.It was heartening to hear from the manager that this year has been the best for the hotel since 1999.People should not be deterred from visiting this country and its beautiful people and we would strongly recommend that they stay at The Vic Falls Hotel.

    We loved this hotel

    from

Aside from the historical context of this hotel, resident staff are what made our stay so pleasant. Not once did someone cross my path without giving me a friendly smile and asking me how I was. The location of the hotel is excellent. We sat on the lovely lawn and watched bungee jumpers from a distance jump off the Victoria Falls Bridge (the highest commercial bungee jump in the world). The one downfall of the hotel is that most meals are quite expensive. (Once can take a short walk to Kingdom next door for more reasonably priced meals). When taking the path to the falls, there are quite a few vendors which tend to hassle tourists to purchase their curios. The hotel hires security and the government's tourist security also patrol the path. So if you don't want to deal with vendors, ask the guard to accompany you on your walk from the hotel to the entrance of the falls.

    Loved this hotel

The location and design of this hotel is just superb. The hotel is straight from Edwardian times with fantastic public rooms and a wonderfull terrace. Our bedroom was in the original part of the hotel and although small the room was superbly equipped with edwardian style tester bed. The key asset the hotel has are its staff - each of whom goes out of their way to make your stay special...in a country whre service is not great they go the extra mile. The food was fantastic and the outdoor restaurant really pleasant. Highly recommend this hotel
