... ve now actually been to a WI meeting and really enjoyed it. ( OMG-- in one episode of Clatterford, Tip says to Sal, "My God, are we turning into THEM?"

Yikes! I'd better be careful. Though my first and enduring reaction to the meeting was -- bright, cheerful, warm and life-affirming. Being one of THEM wouldn't be all that bad.

Happily there was no further mention of church but the WI's Scuttlebrook Wake float was mentioned as soon I checked in with the welcoming ...

With just 8 weeks to go before camp, we headed to County Headquarters and met up for a final sleepover. Jess, Alexa, Maisie and Georgia drew our lovely Old Spot banner, which we all signed. We need to parade our banner at the opening ceremony and then fix to our gazebo for the rest of the week, hopefully the £1 ...

Tonight we are staying in a Travelodge at Wooferton between Ludlow and Tenbury Wells and had dinner at the Salwey Arms Hotel, a place we had always planned on visiting while staying at Tenbury, but never found the time. Tomorrow we continue our drive south, this time to Sussex, where we will spend the week exploring the south coast of England.

Apparently they are solitary so don't live in hives. We've also seen lots of other wildlife out and about - hares, pheasant, squirrels and deer but no sign of a hedgehog yet. We visited the church in Stratford Upon Avon ...

... has an enormous Abbey and a Main Street that looks like Little Moreton Hall. We found the Old Tudor Hotel that was originally built in the time of the Tudors and it is a classic. Putting the car keys on the dressing table they slide off. There is not a straight edge in the entire place. It backs on to a canal and the Avon River. The ceilings are so low that Michaela would get concussion and more black beams than an Estate Agent could sell. Off to Wells tomorrow. Wouldn't be dead for ...
