Busselton Jetty is long!!! 1.8km long in fact, and is apparently the longest timber-piled jetty in the southern hemisphere. This day we had an awesome experience with the sting rays at Hamelin Bay.
Hamelin Bay had a beautiful sheltered beach with plenty of people enjoying a swim in the water.
We walked out to the point near Hamelin Island and it was blowing a gale. Yet a few hundred metres back, Hamelin Bay was quite comfortable with little breeze.

There is a very good history of the jetty housed on the jetty where it follows the building and extension/s of the jetty and various rebuilds that have had to occur after storms and fires etc and then of course the final fight to keep it and raise the funds to restore it to its present condition.

After Lee's judgement that all beers on display were too cold for sampling or discovering their true flavour (he's getting a bit big for his boots I think!) we drove up to Cape Naturaliste for a pretty close encounter with the lighthouse.
