So finally the time had come! After two sleepless nights and a pretty stressful packing day in which I admitted defeat in losing my train tickets (a £60 mistake!), we were finally on our way. The 10.20 train from Derby to London St Pancras was relatively uneventful, as was the tube to Heathrow, although much quieter than predicted.
Fiji is billed as a relatively unspoiled paradise in the south Pacific and we were sold on the idea almost immediately. Fiji is actually a stopover on a flight to Sydney, but the stop can be as long as you want. We extended our stop for ten days and the flight is ridiculously cheap.
