Historical Traveler Reviews of The Two Mile Inn Limerick
No problems at all (at all)

Again in my experience the bad reviews were unfounded. The rooms were clean and the staff superb. There are issues, however, as one wing of the hotel has suffered a bit of subsidence. We stayed in this wing and, apart from the bathroom door not closing well, there was no effect on our enjoyment of the well appointed room.

Lovely Stay in the Two Mile Inn Hotel
from david009
I have stayed in the Two Mile Inn on many occasions and have always found it clean, comfortable and reasonable. The staff are always more than friendly and helpful. I have many friends that have stayed here in the past and they also have always enjoyed their stays. The food is always excellent both breakfast and dinner. What is good about this hotel is that the staff are so friendly and make you feel at home, which is so difficult to come by in this day and age.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel to anyone.
Avoid at all cost!!

stayed at the two mile for two nights for a course i had to attend in limerick. firstly, it is in the middle of a main road with nothing to see. secondly, it hasnt been renovated since the early seventies. it reminded me of one of those dodgy, cheap roadside motels you see in the states. rooms are very basic with old furniture, stains and broken appliances.
staff seemed friendly enough but i wouldnt have been surprised if they hadn't been as the place can't be too pleasant to work in!! i can't remember the price but i would have been better off staying in jurys inn or somewhere like that for a bit of comfort.
oh and do not order a taxi from the hotel into limerick call it yourself as otherwise they will charge you through the nose because it is a hotel call!!dont ask-some other new scam of rip-off irish culture!!
Use only as a last resort

I had one overnight in the hotel. Room was basic.
The water from the tap was brown--no I do not mean off-colour I mean brown.
I had a business meeting the next morning and went to have a shower at around half past seven only to find no water. I was told by a curt receptionist that 'Christy' was trying to fix it but did'nt know when it would be fixed. I had my breakfast, which was poor fare, and returned to have my shower.
Whilst the room rates are relatively low, from my experience I certainly got what I paid for, unfortunitely.
Bad Reviews are Inaccurate!

What is up with the bad reviews? I have stayed in the Two Mile Inn several times, always on my way from Shannon to Dublin and have never had any problems.
The staff are extremely curteous and helpful plus my regular room is always immaculate, decorated in a very tasteful blue and yellow. I always ask for one of the older rooms as the newly refurbished rooms are further away from reception. Housekeeping are more than obliging as I usually need a few extras if my luggage is lost in Shannon as has happened a few times.
I have recommended the Two Mile Inn to several friends and all have thanked me afterwards.
I would recommend the Two Mile Inn above The Radisson (which is just across the road) any day of the week. I have stayed in both but will always return to The Two Mile Inn
Hated every minute of it

From our check-in to our check-out everything at the 2 Mile Inn went from bad to worse. My husband and I were in Limerick visiting family and we decided to stay here for convenience.
On check-in we were told our room would not be ready for another hour or so. It was 1pm in the day so we thought maybe we were a bit early.
We sat in the lobby and saw several people come in after us and be sent straight to their rooms. At 3:30 the girl behind the desk called us over, told us she had forgotten about us and gave us our room key.
The room was fine, I'll give it that. A bit crowded, too much furniture.
Our dinner was horrible, cold, late and we had to wait 45 minutes between finishing our main course and getting desert.
The next morning we were woken at 7am, after a late night, by several tour buses outside our window being boarded by what seemed to be several hundred guests.
On checking out, we were told our telophone bill was 325 euro! My husband made one call tot he states for approx. 3 minutes. After much arm twisting the problem was rectified WITHOUT apology.
My luggage was stolen!

The hotel Manager (Robert) had us leave our luggage in a 'holding' room upon arrival, pre-check-in and my luggage was stolen. Though I understand that these things happen sometimes, the management and owner (Mr. Dunn) would do nothing to assist me in filing a claim! It was $400 worth at a minimum. It's not safe for American tourists to have their belongings out of their sight at the Two Mile Inn...beware!
I would appreciate a return email from the Two Mile Inn. Hope other travelers have better luck! The rest of Ireland was wonderful.

What a Great Place

My friend and I were on a Global Holiday Tour and were lucky enough to be booked at this hotel on the first leg of our trip. Our room was very comfortable, the staff at the hotel were the best. Always ready to help you and sooooo friendly. This hotel had a wonderful gift shop with 2 great ladies who worked there. The food at Thaddy O'Niels was very good as well. The location of the hotel was very accomadating. On 2 of our free days we would just take the bus to Limerick or to Bunratty and do our shopping. We had no problems getting around. I would stay at this hotel again without a second thought.
