Lot's to talk about from our short time in Selma (pics up soon, forgot the cable)...

First - Brown Chapel - starting point for the march from Selma to Montgomery (and Bloody Sunday two weeks prior). ... her to willingly join us in the water. So that meant I had to pull her in. This was not an easy task and she scurried out as quickly as she could.

In the afternoon, my cousin Frankie saddled up some of the horses and Alex got to go for a little ride. Then there was more swimming and even time to hold one of Uncle D's new baby ducks...a father's day gift from his daughters.

We had a very peaceful and relaxing visit and can't wait to go back again.

... Oreo cookie and cream cheese balls dipped in chocolate...decadence. While Jackie was cooking, we walked down to the barn so Alex could help feed the horses. Tori & Bella were very intrigued with these new creatures and weren't quite sure how to approach them. It was a funny site.

... us big guy--we were still on the road....We drove on bad roads untill we started to hit Nashville--then things started to get better. Although the vacations was fantastic...We were happy to make it home. The rest of the drive was smooth and we made it home safely. Thelma, I will travel with you again anytime!!!! ... rain, high winds, hail, tornado warnings, and watches. We drove in some scary thunderstorms and torrential rains today. As we looked up warnings closer to home, we were getting concerned about the weather we will face tomorrow. Pray for our safe trip home. If the weather is bad we will stay an extra night in Priceville. We will update this final blog with road signs, food, and more later.

... by a quick parallel ride on TN 13 and then back onto the NTP at the entrance ramp. So I counted the "parkway mileage" for this day's ride starting at MP 350. I got off a little earlier this morning, about 0820 or so, and encountered a terrific day to ride. Once again, cool temps, but no wind to speak of. This segment, all the way down to the AL state line around MP 341, is completely flat. (TO BE CONTINUED..)

(29) TRIP TAKEN SEPTEMBER 9, 2006 SATURDAY WE HAVE FUN AT JOE WHEELER STATE PARK RESORT ESPECIALLY ON FRIDAY NIGHTS. THEY USUALLY HAVE PRIME RIB ON THEIR MENU. THE STAFF AT THE RESORT HAS ALWAYS BEEN VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. WE LOVE TO STAY IN THE SUITES BECAUSE THEY ARE BIG AND ROOMY. OURS HAD A BIG BIG KITCHENETTE, FRONT ROOM AND A SEPARATE BEDROOM. BEDS WERE PRETTY COMFORTABLE. WE HAVE ALWAYS SEEN ...

... TO HAVE THE SECOND NIGHT. YOU KNOW FIREPLACE; HOT TUB; UP ON A MOUNTAIN; ALL THE NECESSITIES FOR A GOOD TIME...RIGHT? IT WAS OUR SON'S BIRTHDAY AND THIS WOULD BE HIS BIRTHDAY AND VALENTINES PRESENT FROM US. THE CABIN DID HAVE ALL OF THESES THINGS BUT IT WAS A VERY OLD CABIN. SOMEONE HAD REMODELED IT OR TRIED TO. LET ME TELL YOU THE PICTURE ON LINE MADE THE CABIN LOOK REALLY NICE. WE GOT THERE BEFORE DARK SO WE HAD TIME TO CHECK THINGS OUT. WE REALLY WONDERED IF WE WANTED TO GO OUT ...
