My morning started out well. I got to the Airport just in time. Can I just mention that I would love to have the skill of packing lightly, but I don't! I got to the counter to get my ticket and I was 23.5kg with the allowance of 20kg. So to save myself $45 I said I would be back. So I went away to some chairs opens my suitcase & thought to my self what is causing all this extra weight? So I garbed the plastic shopping bag that my shoes were in took them out ...
... reefs and gigantic forests. This diversity in the country side has been one of the things that made it such a great time for me in Down Under. I was especially surprised to find so many places with waterfalls and natural pools.
The wildlife in Australia has also been a great experience for me. Seeing koalas and kangaroos has surely been amazing, but something I had expected. Surprising for me was to see crocodiles and the large number of interesting birds, especially the many kites ...
I think where only 2 hrs into the trip and have 7.5 to go!!!! Ankles okay so far-no elephantitise in sight! Had some chicken thing for lunch? Was delicious! Arrived in china with 37 degree temp was nice and sweaty! China does not have Facebook which is extremely weird and controlling by the Chinese gov. They also have a weird toilet culture? Had a few beers and met some fellow Aussies which we passed the 5 hour stop ...
... that. With the weather still not behaving we had a quick tour through the national park in the car and then headed back to Melbourne. In the evening I ventured into town to meet up with Ro again and had a nice wander around the south side of the city and down to the docks area and then went to an Irish pub that serves a really nice kangaroo steak. I think this may have been the first pub I've been to where I have not ordered an alcoholic beverage ...
... It was a beautiful 24 degrees the next day so we hit the beach in St. Kilda and the first thing I noticed is there are so many runners over here in tight spandex jogging along the beach! With stunning views it's not surprising... We parked the vans facing the beach to cook dinner while watching the sun set over Melbourne city, now this is what travelling is all about!
