... English. The problem with listening to Indians speak English, however, is that we do not share the same sense of what syllables in a word should be accented. Udaipur is pronounced ooh DYE pur…like Ooh! DIper! With the accent on the DI. This pattern repeats itself and makes communication difficult, particularly for those with an untrained ear. Mr. Singh is better at finding the western syllable to accent which makes comprehension easier on us tourists.

Udaipur
... to Udaipur was appalling. It was only 300km but it took the entire day. I think we did go the long way round though as we also visited a couple of really great sights along the way. About a couple of hours into the drive we hit a small mountain range, with beautiful lush forest.
