Sydney here we come!

Oh wow to be in civilization!!. We were finally in an English speaking city after 2 and a half months and she really is a gorgeous city, the Opera house, the Sydney bridge, the botanical gardens, we were ready to soak up all of her sites, restock our rack sacks and have a good English night out. And the most fabulous thing was that we were not of course jet lagged!! In the very early days of flying a commercial flight from London to Sydney involved 42 refueling stops, up to 5 changes of air c...

Fun & games over the New Year period

What a New Years Eve!!! I'm definitely suffering today! Anyway, worked for a couple of days last week which wasn't too bad. Very quiet though. Then spent the weekend with Fab & Isabelle at their flat in the city. Had a lovely time & met a load of their friends (Seb, Pascale, Justine, Rob, Allen, Bob, Catherine & Aiden). Also, a girl called Steffi turned up who I first met on a bus when Bex, Kat & I went to Cape Trib in August & who I bumped into again in Brisbane - how cra...

... Zoo and absolutely loved it. Its enormous and great value for money- i picked a day when the forecast wasnt great and lo and behold the weather was gorgeous- and the zoo was half empty. The animals were all really well looked after and the keepers all so friendly and knowledgeable. I particularly loved the wombats- really cute like hairy little pigs!! I want one!! I may smuggle one home and see what my cats make of it.
They had a really extensive breeding programme for many ...

Bondi Beach baby!!!

... to see today.

When we got back to Sydney we decided enough was enough and went shopping for some jeans, as we are sick of looking like tramps in joggers. Seeing as the weather doesn’t look like it’s going to improve we thought it a good investment.

Tomorrow we have the Harbour Bridge climb in the morning and then we are going to find Summer Bay!! I wonder if I will see any of the cast….fingers crossed!!

Apologies!

Hi there,

Yes, I'm **** at keeping this going. I massively apologise to anyone who was hoping for some info for the last month! The cheesy reason is that I've actually been having too much fun, but I've managed to catch up to the present now, despite it being rather hard to remember some bits...

Enjoy! If it goes downhill again leave me some nasty comments and I'll do my best

xxx

Saying G’day to Sydney

... event – Colin got his first ever hole in one! It is tradition that if someone gets a hole in one they buy the beers at the 19th hole to celebrate – Paul was very upset to find that this golf club didn’t have a bar, fortunately Colin made up for it in the pub later!

One of my favourite days was when we visited Palm Beach – better known as Home & Away’s Summer Bay! ... celebrations. This was a great night as we were able to sit right on the harbour with our legs dangling into the water and watch as jetskis ripped around the harbour setting off incredible fireworks from the water. Also in sydney, we went for a cruise around the harbour which included a two course dinner and sparkling wine. Sounds beautiful, and it was in parts - particularly heading out to the decking and watching all the lights of the city flicker on ...

2 years....no way long enough!

... had bought to go back to Tasmania for Christmas.....so we bought some more from Port Macquarie and told ourselves that definitely, absolutely and no maybes about it, we would get there in time! We made it to Port Macquarie for the 16th December and stored the van and ute at a caravan park within walking distance of the airport. We flew back to Tassie for 3 weeks and it felt like "home" as we flew into Hobart but we could ...

... makes it very expensive Everything here is American- they have no culture of their own. Some of the following summarizes: TV- there is almost NOTHING good or original on tv. The most watchable thing here are re-runs of American shows like the Simpsons, Law & Order, and Two and a Half Men (gag). Their daytime shows are The View, Oprah and American Soap Operas. Even their original shows are just American copies, such as The Biggest Loser, So You Think ...
