    Bidding Ed farewell and resting

I awake according to my custom before 5am:

    Seagulls circling early,

    Calling

    "Come join us".

It's a rest day and we take the time to farewell Ed onto the London train and focus on preparing ourselves for the next stage of this adventure.

By the time we have reached Tregony we have covered 24kms and scaled a final steep hill up to the bus stop, once again in good time to catch the bus to Truro. We take some time here telling stories of the day we’ve just consumed and again I am impressed by Ed who has crunched out these kilometres despite blisters, and much perspiration; it’s wonderful to see how strong he is and how well he’s coping.

... where we find our spirits lifted by the unexpected delights of a waterside family cafe serving remarkably good coffee and a homemade cake. In fact, we regret having carried pork pies and sandwiches as the meals we saw from the largely vegetarian menu looked remarkably appetising.

We continue to walk around the other side of the lake and into Stithians where we found the church calm and inviting despite preparations that were ...
